Splinterlands

Nixie was lying on the wet ground face up, still kept her eyes closed. She could feel the warmth of the small rays of sunshine that pierced the high canopies of the trees. She had to become one with nature and be able to feel the vital force of the Great Spirit of the Forest. However, all her efforts had been in vain.

No matter how hard she tried, she could not achieve the level of meditation necessary to set her mind as blank as her mother had commanded. To become a legendary Lyanna Nature, she had to control her thoughts, become one with the whole forest.

She remembered how she had tried to summon an entity and unfortunately, she only managed to invoke a Goblin Sorcerer. Which was catastrophic. It was night and he made a fuss waking up her whole family and destroying everything in his path. Fortunately, her mother managed to get rid of him before he caused any more trouble.

"Only as an empty mind free of distractions is it possible to control entities and other summoned creatures".

Her mother's words still echoed in her head.

Even her younger sister had managed to summon a Wood Nymph to perfection.

Lazily she sat up and returned to the lotus position. Her mind managed to stay blank for a few seconds when a loud roar distracted her.

A hole of lights and rays had opened no more than 20 meters from her and a creature was shooting out of it, hitting a tree.

Had she been the one who had summoned a creature again without wanting to? She would be in trouble again if someone was watching her. Thanks to the Great Seed, she had chosen a place far enough away from everyone.

Frightened, she rose suddenly and ran for cover.

For a few minutes, which seemed like an eternity, she waited, but the creature remained motionless. A portion of her urged her to leave the site, but her curiosity prevailed over her desire to leave the place.

Cautiously she approached the strange creature. Nixie opened her eyes further.

"Was it a... human?"

— By All Ancients! What the hell does a human being do in the land of the Elves?

"Humans are not trustworthy, they are selfish beings and everything they touch they destroy" were the words that her grandmother used to say during the ceremonies commemorating the Spirit of the Forest.

Nixie bit her lower lip.

He didn't look intimidating in any way. He looked a little starved and wore strange crystal rings over his nose. Her outfits were a rarity to her. He could probably be a Summoner, as his superior garb had strange words written on it without any meaning.

"IMAGINE DRAGON"

Nixie frowned and her eyes ran from side to side, trying to remember the spell to reveal manuscripts.

Revelius, she shouted and the words on his shirt made sense.

— Dragons!?, Nixie's face rejoiced.

— He's a summoner!, she cried.

Sack opened his eyes and sharp pain in his head caused them to close suddenly.

A young woman, with a very beautiful complexion, looked at him in the distance a bit insecure, rolling her finger into a hair-brown. She wore a green dress that reached down to her feet, fitted with what looked like a kind of vine.

"Was it leaves that decorated her dress?" asked Sack himself.

"Surely there must be a medieval convention nearby," he thought again.

His mind was still confused. The last thing he remembered was that he was in the quantum development lab, doing an experiment with the Hadron collider.

He soon realized that he was no longer in Kansas. Large trees and jungle vegetation covered the entire area. And somehow, it was daylight.

As a reflex, he put his hand in his pocket. His cell phone was still in it. His joy was ephemeral, a grimace of displeasure crossed his face. It was completely fried.

"How long would it have been since he passed out?"

The young woman finally dared to say a few words. Sack could not understand anything she said.

— I don't understand what you're saying. Can you tell me where I am?

The girl waved her hands, then closed her eyes for a moment and then opened them saying a word that reminded him of Latin.

Loquere!

— You can't stay here — repeated the girl.

"She was suddenly speaking perfect English? How could I possibly understand her?" But it was not time to find out how she had done it, so he decided to leave that mystery for another time, there were more important things that needed to be solved.

— My name is professor Sack Simon. Can you tell me where am I?

— This is Splinterland, more specifically Anumün. It is the domain of the Spirit of the Forest. What Splinter are you coming from?

— Surely, you're from Draykh-Nahka — Nixie added.

— Splinter? — asked Sack.

— Yes, after the great destruction many, many years ago, the Ancients gave life back to the world and the Earth was divided into 6 continents or splinters. These are: The Burning Lands, Azmare Islands, Anumün, Mortis, Khymeria and Draykh-Nahka, the land of dragons — Pointed the girl, as she counted on each of her fingers.

— Each of these is represented by an element: fire, water, earth, death, life, and dragon. Each of the splinters is watched over by one of the Ancients.

— Slow down. Earth, you said?

Before Nixie could explain a little more, a great tyrannosaurus Rex made its way through the trees, roaring fiercely.

— Jesus! Is that ...

Sack rose suddenly

— Run! — he shouted

Nixie wasn't afraid of the creature, she was already used to seeing many other creatures that roamed Anumün.

Sack began to run but realizing that the girl had not moved, he quickly turned back and grabbed her by the arm, dragging her as far as he could.

The dinosaur continued to make its way through the undergrowth. Nixie resisted for a moment until she managed to stop Sack.

— Wait, wait, wait, wait! There is nothing to fear. It’s just Rexxie

However, a thin, dark figure appeared between them and the dinosaur. The temperature dropped sharply and a foul odor flooded the area. An unexpected feeling of desolation harbored Sack's heart. Nixie squeezed his hand in apprehension and slowly backed away.

This being carried a skull over his head and a femur in its right hand. It uttered words it could not understand and suddenly a beam of green light emerged between its hands.

— Zintar Mortalis! the alarmed girl whispered.

Suddenly two monstrous creatures materialized in front of the dark figure.

One of them was a chimera, half-bull, half-human. But its smell of rotten flesh was even more disgusting. The skin of its face and torso was torn, exposing its bones to the open.

For a moment it looked at both of them and emitted a loud snort. Sack was completely paralyzed in the face of these mighty creatures.

Its companion was another chimera, a large dark wolf with horns that covered its entire back. The latter kept its distance between the minotaur and the T-Rex. With a movement of the hand of the dark one, both beasts began to attack the tyrannosaurus.

— The Undead Minotaur is no match for the T-Rex — whispered Nixie — Unfortunately Spineback Wolf is very fast — she sadly added

The T-Rex decreased its attack strength by 1 due to Zintar's presence; reducing it from 4 to 3. The wolf attacked the T-Rex in the blink of an eye, reducing its life power to 5 and immediately hid behind his partner. The T-Rex rammed the minotaur with its great force and ripped out one arm, decreasing the minotaur's life power by half, to 3. The minotaur managed to hit its ax on both sides of the T-Rex, hitting it twice, reducing the T-Rex's life power down to 3.

Again, the wolf swiftly rammed its horns and reduced the T-Rex's life power down to 2. Full of rage, the T-Rex beat its tail against the minotaur, shredding his rotten corpse to the ground.

For a very short moment, Nixie's face lit up at the thought that the T-Rex would emerge victoriously.

However, the wolf took advantage of its speed and attacked again, reducing the T-Rex's power of life down to 1. The T-Rex still strongly counterattacked the wolf, tearing its armor with its jaws but this did not affect the wolf's life's power. Finally, the wolf bit the T-Rex's throat, clinging to it until it drowned in its own blood.

— No! — shouted Nixie in horror with her face filled with tears as she watched the T-Rex perish bleeding to death.

From the inert body of the T-Rex emanated dark energy crystals that went into Zintar's hands.

Zintar pleased with its victory, decided to deal with the witnesses.

To its surprise, a redhead with dragonfly wings came from the sky, standing between Zintar and the witnesses.

— It's Xander (FoxWood)! — Nixie shouted excitedly.

Sack sensed that he was the girl's friend, as the type of accessories he wore were very similar to the girl's.

Xander, faced with imminent danger, placed his hands on the floor and uttered some unintelligible words for Sack, a kind of enchantment.

The ground shook and the earth opened up, and large rocks emerged, forming a great humanoid creature made entirely of stone.

— As it is, Spineback Wolf is no match for Stone Golem — said Nixie wiping her tears from her face.

Zintar knew very well that its summoning power was superior to Xander's, however, it was at a disadvantage because it was far from its world of darkness and probably in front of a second summoner, although inexperienced could alter the outcome of a new fight. It then decided to disappear along with its beast.

Finally, out of danger, Xander thanked the Golem for its help and with a movement of his hands, it became part of what it was before.

— What is this human doing in the realm of the Elves? — asked Xander angrily, threatening him with his sword.

Sack still couldn't believe what had happened moments before. What world he was in. Was it really Earth? Was he dreaming? And how the hell was it going to come back? I was sure there wouldn't be a Hadron collider in that world.

— I think he's a summoner. He has come from another world,— replied Nixie.

— Humans are not Summoners — he spat angrily.

Sack couldn't understand what the winged redhead was saying, but he could understand what the young woman was saying.

Xander sheathed his sword and with a wave of his hands executed a fainting spell and Sack fell sound asleep.

— Whatever it is, we'd better take him to the council for them to decide their fate.

So far I leave this story here, for now ...

It's the first time I've done this kind of contest. Previously, I had won one or another random monster card. I was excited to have them even though I didn't know the rules very well. Then I met a friend in Steemit, who helped me get a pack of cards to start playing at Steemmonsters. I've played very little, it's not as easy as it seems and it takes a lot of strategies, as you could see in the story, to win a battle. Because of my job, I have abandoned the game for now, but in the not too distant future, I will plan to play again.

Thank you for sharing this experience with me.
