RENTING GOLDEN CARDS... I can't resist! It's too much fun renting any card I want on Splinterlands

Renting cards is the most fun part of splinterlands for me. It's like going to an all-you-can-eat buffet. Instead of only having to pick one entree, I can have a little of everything.

In a game with as much build diversity as Splinterlands, I really enjoy it.

It does require some organization to keep track of everything... With dozens of rentals, and then earning rewards in fractional amounts one game at a time... how can I be sure if I'm winning or losing money, other than a vague feeling in my gut?

Spreadsheet Life

I've been keeping track of my expenses and earnings in a spreadsheet. With all the different play2earn opportunities emerging in my life, it is really important to keep track of things.

There are a few approximations on the DEC value column -- I put it at 0.006 for all the last week, since it's been wobbling around between 4x-8x the usual peg of 0.001. At the bottom beneath my "USD Value" column there's a box there summing up my earnings: $52 for the month! Not bad considering I only started taking it "seriously" halfway into the month.

There's another page for expenses -- there I can see I've only spent about $10 on rentals this month. 5xing my rental expense in exchange for playing a fun game an hour a day seems very cool to me.

So, what to do now that I'm getting organized and earning some profits?

Spend it all on Gold Card Rentals?

Yeah, spend it all on Gold Card Rentals!

Wait what?

Yeah yesterday I was poking around the rental market with a few thousand DEC in my account, ready for the upcoming season... and I got a little bit excited about some gold cards.

I don't know what happened, all I know is I have all these cards available for the next 31 days :-P

To be fair, I do own a humble collection of about 10 gold foil cards, including a few that I really like such as golden Pyre. That shieldbearer in this photo came from a reward chest, actually, my highest value reward pull.

Most of these are rented though. I was happily surprised by some great deals -- I mean, who doesn't want a golden chicken in their collection when grinding Splinterlands an hour a day?

It probably wasn't financially optimal, but it's fun to have some golden cards. NO REGRETS!

How are you preparing for the August seasons?

There's two seasons coming up in August. How are you preparing? Any new rentals, purchases, strategies, etc?

One thing is for sure: It will be an exciting month for the game of Splinterlands. LET's GET IT!
