Maggots are in Action || Splinterlands Weekly Challenge....

Hello Splinterlands Family

Another week and another story has begun. This week we saw a very nice promotional campaign, which came to an end. It was known as the Power Up campaign. I hope it was a successful campaign. Besides as it seems , as of now there are 11527 Packs are left, to unlock the next airdrop. That will probably get filled up within next week or so !

Apart from that today let me share one of my Splinterlands battle with you, as there is a weekly challenge going on, check out the post below, to be a part of it.

This week's CHALLENGE RULE was : Use MAGGOTS in a battle

I was really looking forward to use Maggot in a game play. As this was probably the first card, that I used and got to perfect the style of opportunity in a game. So let me share my game plan with Maggot.

My favorite are high mana games. Probably because I get to use different monsters with different options at hand. So in this game I had 34 mana game with the rule set Only Melee attack monsters maybe used in battle's. So this seems to be a perfect match to try out the death deck. As most probably I thought the opponent would come around with Daria as the summoner. As I saw the the previous gameplays, my opponent had some leveled up cards then me. So, if I select Daria that would have been a little disadvantage for me in turns of taking attacks. So Zintar was my choice, in terms of -1 melee attack and +1 Melee attck from Daria would equalize the melee attack monsters.

Now as the summoners are dealt with, time to pick up the monsters.

As death deck is one of my favorite among the others, this game seemed like I was going on a battle with full force Arggghhh ;)... So as I was saying, time to slay my opponent with everything I have.

Lord of Darkness :

I have a level 3 Lord and along it the features that are unlocked are `Enrage` , `Stun` & `Shield`. Which is perfect for the 1st position. It would attack with higher speed, also due to stun ability may have the chance to avoid an attack in the battle and with shield the damage would be minimum in life due to shield and +9 Life would be crucial as well. As no magic ability monsters allowed, so this was suitable for the first position to take on.

Corrupted Pegasus :

It is a corrupted card in several ways, which can run damage at a very high level once it is leveled up. But I have only one of it ; ( Nevertheless, it came in handy as well. The reach ability in it came in perfect and suits the second position as well.

Skeleton Assassin :

Sneak ability is one of my favorite at all times and when it has an addition of poison the fun really doubles in a battle. Choosing it in the third position seemed right as in it would be enough to make some damage in two or three level in a game to the last monsters of the opponent. It did it's work very perfectly.

Maggots :

Whichever card has opportunity as an ability, that card is indeed valuable from my point of view. Now, can you imagine the winning strike in this battle was given by Maggot. That's maggot for you. The damage though is 1 Melee attack but it helped in a way to evade attacks from the opponent. As the one that it attacked, it had poison ability as well. Which could have been lethal in the game. Helping it taking it out, was a relief !

Spineback Wolf :

One of the reason I used this card was mainly for defense. As the haunted spirit that I had in the last would take most of the damage but still kept it as a safe keeping in terms I loose the last monsters and the thorn ability would come in handy.

Haunted Spirit :

Like I stated, if my opponent used any magic sneak monsters the reflect would be perfect and in addition to that the heal ability of a sneak attack would be perfect in this position as well. As you can see in the battle, even the poison and and melee attack was dealt with by the spirit, which made the turn out of the game very much easily for me.

So, at this point I must say, every card played it role (Except the wolf) as expected. While, in addition to that if I get the chance I would definitely upgrade the Maggot for better performance in the game. As I believe that any card with opportunity stat, can really turn the game at any moment. So it is a valuable card and can have influence very much in any game, if used correctly in the right position and in right rule set.

I would definitely use Maggot at convenient rule set and it would be nice to see the out come as well.

  • Did my Strategy worked out ?
Of-course, it did. Even though I had low level cards in few case but using the right card and at right place matters the most. It is not only about cards but it is about how and where do one use them in the battle which matters.

That is it for the day and once again I want to thanks @splinterlands , for coming up with this idea once a week and allowing us Splinterlands users get together sharing their way of thinking with each other. I missed last week's battle sharing with P.ogre damn was little busy but I hope I do not miss the next ones. As it is quite fun and exciting to share some game play and rules with ya all. Stay safe and keep on playing !

Enjoy Your Day

The Maggots were one of the first Untamed cards I have leveled up - together with the Dark Ha'on. Power combo!
