SPLINTERLANDS UPDATE: My cool-downs are ending, Chain Golem has arrived, first Dragon Splinter quest

My cards are alive again!

Finally! I don't want to sound cocky, but I think I'll stand a much better chance of getting back up to my usual ratings when I have access to all of my cards again. I'm figuring out which Untamed cards I really like using and will have a good idea which ones I'll want to use in combination with some of my trusty favorites.

When I first checked this morning, most of my cards were available to be used again. I think the player playing my cards last season did attempt to gain rank all the up until the buzzer, so some of them have a couple of left. They'll all be ready to be used today, though. This should (hopefully) change everything. I'm lucky I had Archmage Arius to rely on, but I was missing basically every other summoner I would've liked to use in most cases.

One thing I need to do is try to get up in the ranks a little bit. Just in general, but also because I want to be able to play any tournament I've got the cards for. It was such a bummer this morning to be wide awake at 4:45 am when I would've needed to check into a Champion tournament, but needing the 2000 DEC to enter it was a problem. Partially because I didn't have 2000 DEC and partially because I could've very well gotten knocked out in my first round and just wasted all of that DEC.

Chain Golem has arrived!

I got enough to make one max level regular one, and then just two of the gold foil ones. I'd already gotten some of the Untamed packs the old-fashioned way before realizing there were additional perks for supporting the Kickstarter.

Chain Golem is my first Untamed card to reach max level!

It seems like a pretty useful card so far. Some people are comparing it to Lord Arianthus, but that's mostly because this is only the second card to also have both magic void and shield abilities. Chain Golem does have a higher mana cost than Lord Arianthus, but it also has its own attack capabilities. You could say that Lord Arianthus can attack, but only in retaliation.

One of the first battles in which I used the Chain Golem card was able to shed some valuable perspective on it for me. The mana cost of a Chain Golem is 8 whereas the Goblin Mech is 10. Granted, this Goblin Mech shown here is only level 4, but the point is still valid. For 8 mana, you get a powerful attack like The Goblin Mech, similar protection in general, as well as void and shield as mentioned before. Both cards have the piercing ability.

Quest rewards

I got my first Dragon Splinter quest. I'm pretty sure you can't get one of those until you're in at least the Gold League, so it makes sense I haven't gotten one until today. It also makes sense you can't get this quest until you're at least the Gold level.

In order to get to that level, you would almost certainly have some Dragon Splinter cards. There are so many now that it's more likely almost everyone at a certain level would have some of cards. Except, of course, for people who have multiple accounts with only a splinter or two. I think it's actually good to make it more difficult for people to operate that way, personally. We definitely need more accounts playing, but the more we can have them played by unique individuals instead of one person with more expendable income, the better.

These posts are wordy! I know no one reads all of it, either... it's just fun to journal, I suppose. That's basically what this entire blog is, a gaming journal. I do like to be able to search for posts when I want to look back at when I, say, maxed out a certain card. It's unfortunate that some of the screenshots don't contain all of the information that a screenshot taken today would have, though.

At the same time, seeing the old screenshots is cool in a way that using an iPhone 4 or something is... nostalgic reasons. One can get accustomed to looking at something every day for a long period of time, but then it changes one day and you'll forget all about it until you get some sort of reminder.

Get to the f****** point, Shark!

I waited to claim these rewards until I'd hit the next league up, which was the Gold II League, in this case. As you can clearly see, it was worth it. Yes, that was sarcasm. This is about as run-of-the-mill as rewards can get. Nothing new, nothing borrowed or golden, three Sea Genies of blue.

Random tweet fun!

I love dogs. They're much better than humans, in my opinion.

This random tweet thing is more a feature for my blog than Steem, as the tweets don't show up. Feel free to visit my blog from time to time... I'd appreciate it. Hell, if you clicked on an ad, I'd like that even more. You get enough for almost a pack of cards from just about every ad click. I hate ads as much as the next person, but I also know to block them if they truly bother me that much.

Oh no! Shark Monsters!

Follow me on Twitter if you dare. I post a lot while I'm playing. Sometimes it's insightful, sometimes it's... less insightful.

The ads are on my website, not Twitter, but it's all good... ads are shitty anyway. :) I do sort of livetweet my playing a lot of times, though. I've been trying to keep it a little cleaner lately. I used to just get all tourette's on there and curse everyone's names for beating me. hahah.

Love these upvotes, and thanks for letting me know you read everything.
