Top 10 UNTAMED Cards

Okay, heres my post, about which cards I think are the best out of the untamed set! Some of these I knew would be good, others joined the list after I saw them beeing used. And we also got some new additions, that we didnt see in the previews!

I havent really played with them all yet (sad to say 640 isnt enough to get decent leveled cards haha), but here we go.


Honorable Mentions

While I did say previously that the Princess is insane, and I still stand by that, I think she doesnt quite cut it into the top 10. She has insane healing abilities, but the cards on this list are super murder machines. And becouse of that, her heal isnt that good, since the minions can still die. Shes still super good in lower mana games, where you want to heal the front and backline, and shes the cheapest tank-heal option for earth.

Horny Toad, is spicky, yet he doesnt come with thorns?! Whats this?
Okay ye, but hes a really good good, beeing the cheapest reach unit in the game, and sporting three dmg is really good. Having poison can be good aswell, althought that depends on your luck.
In most lower mana games youll want to pick him as the reach unit over almost all of the splinter specific cards.


The next two cards are here, becouse I think they are really strong in Novice - Silver, having a lot of stats with just a single copy of the card.

Three attack for a level one ranged unit is really good, if you just need some raw dmg early on this is pretty good.

Whats better than three dmg on lvl one? Well how about four!
Thats really insane, while most ranged units in silver will run around with 1-2 dmg, this Headhunter comes with four!
Yes, the card is really expensive for eight mana, but if you have a decent frontline, and a higher mana game, this is an amazing unit to use.

Okay, lets start with the top ten, counting down!

#10 - Spark Pixies

Im not really sure if I should have put the princess here at #10, or if the Pixies deserve the spot more, but Im going with my gut feeling!
These piexes sport some insane dexterity, with seven speed, flying and dodge, it will be very card to hit them. Since their speed is so high, they are also likely to attack as the first unit, having a chance to stun the opponents frontliner. While three attack is on the lower end of cards were seeing today, the fact that the card has really good defenses and stun makes up for it. Its also one of the best triggers for "knock out" in the fire splinter.

#9 - Parasitic Growth

This card initialy fell under my radar, since its weaker than the Harpy from the dragon splinter, but maybe that wasnt fair. So for four mana you get three dmg on an opportunity unit, and the scavenger ability, which is realisticly adding 2-3 HP to the card, meaning it should survive 1-2 hits.
This means that most splinter can use two opportunity units without the dragon splinter, the fact that this is a neutral card is important.
Im not sure if the cost-factor should be considered, but while many of the splinter specific opporunity cards are better, beeing able to only have to max one and use it in all splinters has value.

#8 - Child of the Forest

As I have said in my preview discussions, this card is basicly a earth specific centaur, but for less mana. Using Centaur + Spirit of the Forest was already really good, now you can do the same for one less mana, or toss in both the Centaur and the Child, meaning you can use three snipe units.

#7 - Undead Badger

We already know that the death splinter is the king of low mana games, and this card supports it even more. Having a three dmg sneak unit for just two mana is really insane. If you use him with the skeletal assasin, you get 6 sneak dmg for just five mana. While there are way stronger cards in high manacap games, this card will have a place in many under 25 mana games, possible even in 38 mana games, since then you can spent more mana on other bigger monsters.

#6 - Bone Golem

I was sad to see the EDIT on @jarvie's top ten post, saying maybe the golem doesnt deserve to be in the honorable mentions. I obviously disagree, since Im putting him at spot #6!
This is such a good frontliner, the enemy needs at least two physical attackers or a pierce unit to start dmging the HP of this card, meanwhile magic attackers do reduced dmg due to the void ability. Having repair on a bulky frontline unit is really good in my oppinion.

#5 - The Vigilator

While I wasnt so hot on this card originaly, after having used him in a few games I had to realise something. Even with only one ranged dmg (my copy is at lvl 3) he can do some serious dmg. Why? Becouse of poison! Having double strike, means that you got double the chance to poison the enemy, which makes it really strong.
In addition to that, once you have a max lvl unit, you get 4 ranged dmg per turn (6 with selenia) and 6 melee dmg. Both are really good.
This card also excels in three different rulesets:

  1. Melee Mayham
  2. Super Sneak
  3. Melee Only Units

#4 - Dragon Jumper

While there are better mana to dmg ratio units in this set, that do compareable dmg for less mana, the Dragon Jumper still stands out. Sporting seven HP for a opportunity units means it can survive 2-3 Hits in most cases, meaning he has at least 3-4 chances to attack, thats a lot of dmg, and stun chances. He also comes with five speed and flying, which makes him hard to hit for non-flying units. Having snare also means that he can take out flying units like the Spark Pixie easily.

#3 - Sepentine Spy

Yeah, Im putting a common card in the top three. Deal with it :)
This card is really insane for a common. Not only do you get four dmg for just three mana, which btw can also be buffed by maric/daria/inspire etc. But NO its also a opportunity unit, which is way better than sneak. And theres some bonus poison, in case this wasnt good enough.

In my opinion one of the strongest death splinter cards is the skeletal assasin for his speed, and three dmg sneak for three mana. But this Spy is better in every way, having more attack, beeing in a splinter that can easily buff attack, and coming with opportunity instead of sneak.

#2 - Cornealus AKA Eye God

Well, you all expected for him to be here didnt you, the only question was whenever he was spot 3,2 or 1. And I guess most people agree that hes the strongest legendary, as hes the most expensive right now.
Sporting all three reflect abilites aswell as heal and high HP pool, makes him a good off-tank in the 2nd slot, or a good backline unit against sneakers.

#1 - Failed Summoner - Did he really fail tho?

Yep. The commons are super strong in untamed. This card is insane for the mana it costs. Having magic reflect, demoralize and strenghten makes it an insane utility card, and that for only two mana! In little league you can use it as a tank, with a reach unit behind, or use it in the 2nd slot as of-tank. You can also put her as a sneak defender, althought that positions isnt the best.
The only time where this card should not be plaed, is in games where you have enough mana to fill all the slots, if you cant, then it probably better to use a unit thats costs 2 less in a slot, and put in failed summoner aswell.

This card also provides the best mana to HP ratio for back2basic games. Althought a level 9 version is better for that ruleset.

Thats it for my top 10! Now these could change after some seasons, when I had the chance to use more of them, but here they are for now!

Whats your opinion about the best untamed cards?

Announcement: I mentioned in one of my first posts that Im the type of person who always "goes ham" on a new hobby, and then stop becouse I burned myself out. Im noticing some of that, so I will post a bit less frequently from now on, no more three posts per day kinda deals haha.

Im not sure If its worth to do the Fire and Earth splinter review for the beta cards anymore, I will probably do them at some point, but not sure when.
