My Best Splinterlands Tournament Finish

This morning, like many morning before it, I entered a Splinterlands tournament. This particular one was the Kobold Mining Expedition, an entry level tournament where player are limited to Level 1 monsters and Legendary Summoners are not allowed.

I tend to do better in the tournaments when Legendary Summoners are forbidden, mostly because I don't have any. So it helps level the playing field for me. I've entered many tournaments over the last 8 months or so. I've never placed very high in the competitions. But every so often I do get a little of bit of the Dark Energy Crystals (DEC) offered as prizes to those who finish in the top positions.

Today however, my luck was running high. I finished higher in the rankings than I ever have before...2nd place.

The prize I received wasn't too bad either! 1250 DEC

That DEC will go a long way to helping me purchase the card I've had my eyes on for a long time. One that I think will help me place in the upper echelons of the tournaments on a more regular basis.

If you haven't tried playing Splinterlands yet, you really should. Anyone with a Steem account can give the game a try for free with a basic deck. You won't earn any rewards, but you can get a feel for how exciting the game can be. If you want to earn a little prize money or cards for your victories, you have to buy a Starter pack.
