Mobile Web App Update + GAME Tokens

Splinterlands Mobile Web App Update

We have recently pushed a new version of the Splinterlands mobile web app which you can access in any mobile browser at https://m.splinterlands.io. Special thanks to our newest team member, @melonman0, who is now overseeing and managing the mobile development. The update includes the following changes and features:

  • Guilds - The guilds feature has now been added to the mobile web app! All the functionality of guilds that was available on the desktop site is now also in your pocket.
  • EOS Login & Payments - It is now possible to log in using EOS account keys in the mobile web app when accessing the site through a browser that supports the Scatter protocol, such as the Wombat Wallet App. We are working with the Wombat team to promote Splinterlands within the wallet to their userbase. It is also possible to make purchases in the shop using your EOS tokens.
  • Bug Fixes & Small Changes - There are WAY too many small changes and bug fixes to list here, but hopefully mobile web app players will notice a better overall experience going forward. I'm sure we haven't squashed all of the bugs yet, so if you encounter any issues please let us know in the #mobile-tech-support channel in the Splinterlands Discord Server.

GAME Token Integration

We recently announced that we have started a partnership with the team over at gamecredits.org which we think can be very beneficial to both parties.

As part of that partnership, we are excited to announce that we now accept the GAME ERC-20 token as a method of payment in Splinterlands. This means that you can use the GAME tokens you earn as staking rewards on the GameCredits platform to directly purchase in-game items in Splinterlands!

The first time you make a purchase with GAME tokens you will be asked to first make a transaction on the Ethereum blockchain to authorize spending GAME tokens with Splinterlands before making the actual payment. This authorization transaction will only need to be done once and then all future payments can be done with a single transaction.

If you don't know how GameCredits.org works, we highly encourage you to read all about it in our initial announcement post or on the gamecredits.org website.

In the near future, we plan on offerring in-game rewards to anyone who stakes GAME tokens on Splinterlands, so be sure to pick up and stake your GAME tokens early if you want to get in on that!

The following is the latest high-level overview of the Splinterlands development roadmap. Please keep in mind that the dates listed are estimates and are subject to change, as are the items in the roadmap themselves.

I have to admit a while back I was growing disenfranchised with things in Splinterlands due to always running into bots. I know they have a place, but there for a bit it was hard to find real challenging play. But with things like the introduction of power levels to protect the ecosystem, and seeing road maps like this I really have been enjoying the gaming experience. It's growing, hammering out the kinks, and all of us players are a part of that which is kinda neat. You guys keep up the awesome work. It's looking like a promising road ahead.
