Now that season 52 is complete lets dive in and see if we can't find some important lessons here. As always, last season's stats can be seen here, season 51 stats.

Ok so, I believe it was the end of last season when I got enough power to get into Gold II and this season I had enough to get into Gold I but as we can see that didn't happen. Honestly, I don't think my cards are truly gold league competitive all the time, when we get down to the summoner analysis I will talk about that a bit there but at times I struggle to put out a truly competitive lineup. Additionally, some times I get my lineup out there and I have a facepalm moment of "what the hell was I thinking?" But that will happen when you play games high I guess.

All that said, my rating high is slightly better than in season 51 but my rank in gold league is nearly 100 spots lower. I will say then that my talent has plateaued but more players are getting into the game and they are pretty talented.

Ranked ratio is up from last season!

Ok so, first note here, summoner levels:

Level 1

  • Byzantine Kitty

Level 2

  • Brighton Bloom
  • Malric Inferno

Level 3

  • Mother Khala
  • Bortus
  • Contessa L'ament
  • Drake of Arnak
  • Owster Rotwell

Level 4

  • Wizard of Eastwood
  • Pyre

So Byz Kitty is Legendary giving me access to almost all my cards at their top level. Depending on what I do to stay competitive going forward I may have to bite the bullet and get her to level 2 but right now I play her pretty circumstantially and with one of my higher summoner win rates.

Brighton Bloom is my most successful at an 80% win rate but as I only play her for earthquake advantage and not an evasion matchup her usage numbers are way down.

Finally, lets note that Pyre and Malric have the lowest win rates at 39.66% and 30% respectively. It seems I am pretty out of sync with my Fire splinter cards or I have some terrible luck in opponent match ups. Either way, improving my game here may be the most profitable opportunity as I got 2 Fire splinter quests which forced those summoners into higher usage and clearly there is plenty of room for improvement.

So ignore Furious Chicken and Creeping Ooze as those should require no explanation.

For earth splinter, clearly my go to lineup involves as much Flesh Golem, Kron, Goblin Thief, and Child of the Forest that I can manage. Unfortunately, I'm either over using Flesh Golem or I am using him poorly. It would be nice to see his win rate get closer to the 70% mark.

Remember how I was talking about having a rough go with the Fire splinter? Well it would appear that my use of Serpentine Spy may be at the heart of the matter. I say this because

  • his win rate is about equal to the win rate with Pyre
  • the next Fire splinter monster on the list is Fineas Rage where down at spot 18 with roughly half as many appearances and an equally atrocious win rate of 32%. Time to consume some Fire splinter youtube how-to's I guess.

In my previous analysis I determined I needed to be much better at Back to Basics and Rise of the Commons. Well boys and girls, it appears I've done it. Unfortunately, it appears to have come at the cost of a few of the other rulesets like Holy Protection and Aim True. Also, I have not gotten any better at Explosive Weaponry so I guess I have a few rulesets to focus on for season 53.

Spring Training was pretty brutal on me. Luckily those tourneys give me back all the DEC I was spending to get in so that makes them a break even with some NFT icing.

2 Legendary rewards cards and 2 gold foil rewards cards (too bad there was no overlap) feels like a pretty good haul considering I spent most of the season in Silver and low Gold leagues.

Hopefully the pendulum doesn't swing back on my loot chest ratios but it looks like my card ratio might be a bit high.

To answer my title query, I felt like a stagnated a bit on this season from last. Possibly I forgot as many lessons as I learned but I will have to see if I can pick up my game a bit and get over the Gold II hump. That's not the right analogy, its a flat before another climb. Either way, I'm going to aim for Gold I this season and hope that I can get into Gold III from my 1400 reset point before the week is out.

Do you play Splinterlands already? Gimme a shout.

SPLINTERLANDS come and play, then gimme a shout.

Did I get something wrong? Do you disagree? Did I miss a critical bit of detail? Let me hear about it.

As always, where ever and when ever this finds you, be well and have a spectacular time interval.

Cheers,
MagooZ
