# A high mana struggle - Splinter Stats Season 45 Report Card

This was a tricky season... lots of work-related pressures going on, and plenty of distractions outside of work as well (CubFinance and DCity 3rd edition anyone?). I became a bit inactive with some of the games I played, but Splinterlands is still going reasonably well fortunately :).

This season I finished slightly lower than last time around, and tournament-wise too I performed a little worse as well. But this report card is really great, because it pinpoints the cause of all these problems pretty clearly: high-mana battles.

I normally resort to Yodin Zaku or Chanseus the Great in those battles, but it looks like I could use them more wisely! In particular getting a win rate of 48% with Yodin probably means that I am overusing him, and using him wrongly at other times. I did purchase Selenia Sky recently though, and that has been working rather well (I play her with green usually).
Another thing that stood out was the struggle with white at low mana, with Mother Khala. At the end of the season I levelled up my Lorna Shine, so I hope to do better going forward in those conditions (I think Lorna is clearly better than Khala).

For the first time, the chicken relinquishes the top spot! But what really stands out is a very low win rate with the Fire Beetle. I thought it'd work well with Yodin's blast as it has snipe, but I suppose that's not the case ;). Failed Summoner scores among the highest win rates, showing that somehow I've been much better with green than red this time around!

Little news here, although my poor score with the Stampede ruleset stands out there. I'll be frank with you: I make no changes when that ruleset is in play, but perhaps I should start doing so though? I'm doing remarkably well with the melee and ranged only rulesets, as it's much simpler to make lineups with fewer cards and attack types for me.

One top 10 finish and 7 finishes in the prizes. It's not as good as last season, and here, too, I've been struggling in the high mana battles. I also ended up 9th in the Brave tournament the other day, which gave me 15000 DEC (I would have gotten 79000 DEC if I had finished 8th though!).

One golden common, no legendaries. But I like the new reward cards, and have been freaking out opponents particularly with Nightmare and Almo Cambio :).
It wasn't a great season, but it wasn't bad either and at least my problem here is clear: I need to tune my high-mana strategy. It seems that the meta-game has been shifting around, and recently I did start scoring more wins with Scarred Llama Mage, even against superior summoners. I suppose I'll check @jacekw's season summary, to find out which summoners are hot at the moment :)
Next season I hope to make a Top 50 finish for the first time! Thanks for reading everyone :).
