# The Splintergains report; moving up and Untamed set sold out! - Splinter Stats Season 51 Report Card
@riandeuk
A lot has happened in the Splinterlands this season! And I'm writing this report for the second time as I accidentally clicked a link just before finishing it xD
So what's been happening? Well, the running set Untamed completely sold out and quicker than expected. There was a sudden rush near the end and to add to that the land sale also finished. That's right, feature still coming in a future update is already sold out now too. And this affected anyone already playing, but more on that later!
Then I also decided to give my seasonal report a name: The Splintergains report
How's that? You like it? Think it sucks? Do let me know, I'm open for suggestions. Reason is I want to focus on the gains in total power of cards and the monetary value. Cause lets be honest, the opportunity to earn some coin is one of the main reasons Splinterlands attracts many people. It's a great way to invest and earn while playing a game that's also fun. One of very few that strike a good balance between the two.. Last time I added a list of each seasons stats at the end. This also fits the Leofinance theme better. So will be adding to that list with each report to see the growth over time, should be fun and insightful. Now lets jump into the numbers!

Highest Rated Win vs | @tiredofstupid (2794) |
Performance seems to be already this season. Both ranked and tournament above 1 ratio. Finished with a bit lower rank and rating but that doesn't really matter. Still got to Gold III and could have advanced to Gold II. Forgot to apply @legendarycanary 's trick of renting a gold foil legendary for a day to have the better rewards. Hope I remember in time for the end of this one. Gonna give that little boost and might add some extra power in the long run!
I do plan on building my owned set out to get above 100k+ so I don't have to spend as much on rentals anymore or rent to stay in even higher leagues. Probably gonna take a while though unless I hit some really powerful reward cards (gold foil legendary anyone?). For now finishing all the daily quests and ending the season in Gold should do.
Top 10 Summoner Usage
Summoner | Frequency | Teams Fielded | Win Rate |
---|---|---|---|
Lyanna Natura | 81 | 44.75% | 66.67% |
Alric Stormbringer | 35 | 19.34% | 45.71% |
Malric Inferno | 25 | 13.81% | 68.00% |
Tyrus Paladium | 15 | 8.29% | 46.67% |
Drake of Arnak | 14 | 7.73% | 42.86% |
Zintar Mortalis | 11 | 6.08% | 54.55% |
No surprise here. I rented a lvl 4 Lyanna Natura so naturally (see what I did there?) used that a lot. My favorite splinters now make up 75%+ of the teams. Which is a good thing and really helps get a feel for them and play more efficiently.

To match the summoner of choice most used cards are from the earth splinter or neutral. And yes, of course, what else: damn chicken on top again. Is anyone still surprised by that?
Still think having a shorter list or one to expand/collapse would be better. Don't think many will be interested in the 50 to 100 most used cards. Apart from myself maybe to evaluate my playing. Even then, how much does it say without the specific rules and other variables. Even different levels will make a monster much more (or less) effective. So I'll just take this for what it is. Let's move on.

The most frequent rulesets have pretty good win rates, happy with that. More specifically the first 9 are above 50%!
Only 4 were below 30: Fog of war, Lost magic, Back to basics and Little league. Guess I need a different strategy here.. Or the sample size is small and the results are skewed.. nah, I need better strategy!

Just one, but a good one. The springtraining tournaments organized by @davemccoy are really great and I try to join them whenever I can. There's little pressure as everybody gets their entry fee back and just by playing your matches you're guaranteed to get 1 pack of Splinterland NFTs in your WAX account. Only incentive to rank higher is you get more packs if you finish in a good spot.
Been playing these for a while now and managed to build a nice little collection on WAX. There also a weekly raffle and auction where you can use points from the packs to bid on certain NFTs. Check it out if you get the chance! Only thing for me is they're on Saturdays which can be pretty busy now that restrictions are being lifted and the weather is nice again. But will definitely try to do more of these in the future.

Now we finally get to the good part, the gains of this season! And I can tell you this: they did not disappoint :-D
For a start, I got my first Legendary and Summoner from a rewards chest:
SPIRIT DRUID GROG
KRETCH TALLEVOR
Those cards really add to my deck and am excited to see how I can use them in the coming season. No gold foils and packs this season though, so the total earned dec is a bit lower: 5688
Now let's take a look at the season-on-season progress in terms of dollar value of collection and the total power
Collection progress since last season
Peakmonsters value+power progression (Reversed chronological order):
$ 60.42 using Market Prices // 11,880 DEC
$ 34.60 using Market Prices // 9,100 DEC
$ 28.53 using Market Prices // 7,230 DEC
$ 21.32 using Market Prices // 5,320 DEC
This is a signifcant increase, best to date! The dollar value shot up after the untamed set sold out, almost double from last season. I'm guessing it's the small number of untamed cards in my collection that caused most of it. But looking at power it also increased more than average even though the total earned number was lower.
So that wraps it up for this time, with a rather low number for the total earned all other aspects have gained progress very significantly. I think focusing less on the total amount and more on the progress in my own made chart is important. Who knows it might get picked up and added as a standard part for the splinterstats report.
