Dec 8, 19: Walking Around Chicago and Traveling Home
We fell asleep pretty early last night. I woke up around four thirty and went outside for a few. Saw some of the local wildlife. 😄
But I was actually able to get back to bed. Ended up sleeping for nearly nine hours! Been a really long time since I got that much.
We spent the day seeing the sights around Chicago. I figured it was map-worthy since we were walking around. 😀
Macy’s was absolutely mind blowing! Seven floors, like an entire city block. A person could get lost in there for days.
Amazing architecture as well.
Speaking of architecture, we could see this amazing building right out in the alley behind the hotel.
They’ve got an ice rink up in the park.
The faces were still there, but the fountain was shut off.

The pigeons are absolutely fearless!
There were tons of geese in the harbor. Not sure why they hadn’t gone south yet.

We went down along the river.
Saw a monument to the slaughter of the Native Americans...hooray for us, we killed ‘em!
Pretty neat, walking under the bridge you could see the old-schooly wooden bridge. 😮
The rest of the day we spent driving home. Despite such a busy day, I got my Steemmonsters quest done ✅ and got a new card I haven’t seen before: Boogeyman. I fought my way up into Gold II as well!! 😊
Tomorrow starts the last week of the semester. One day of review for each class and then giving the final exams.
