Jan. 15, 20: Zombierun, Witness Chat, SM Tournament, and Teaching Calculus
Grrr, just shy of a #DoubleDay. Still, quite an active day I would say. Did the usual morning routine: coffee, smoke, crypto markets, curation, crypto faucets, say “heya” in like eight Discord channels, watch some YouTube, write my post, do the dishes...kinda’ gloss over quite a bit when I just say “morning routine.” 😀
Cryptos on a bit of a pullback from the mad spike we had the last couple days, so just holding tight. I did sell some LTC the other day, but haven’t made another move since. My goal was to get Steem and power it up, but I’m sort of hesitant with everyone talking about Steem being nothing more than a utility token and relying on tokens and smts to save the chain.
In the afternoon I attended the monthly Witness Chat over on The Ramble. Always good to hobknob with the uppity ups. 😀. Sounds like there’s quite a bit of work being done towards onboarding new users, guest accounts and ways for non-Steem users to participate and be rewarded by community engagement among a few.
Afterward I went for a brisk walk. Was running short on time again, so only one photo...kept the pace up almost the entire time.
Another overcast day and another day unseasonably warm. Not only did the gloves not come off, they never went on!
The zombies were tough today...twenty percent faster than already running, so I got fifty or twenty meter warnings on all of them. None were able to catch me, though! 😀. We got up into the flotilla and found Maxine...next mission we have to get away. Six out of six zombies evaded and mission complete.
I also took part in a Steemmonsters tournament...had to because it was forced by the daily quest (not cool). I didn’t do too badly, won all my battles up until the fifth round. I thought it was a complete waste of time, but it turns out I won 750 DEC! 😀 Definitely helps with the daily quest potion charge for today!
With only a temporary dip into Silver, I was able to get back into Gold III to finish my daily with a potion charge. Not too shabby rewards:
Got another legendary fire 🔥 mage! 😁. Only one more to get him leveled...yet to use it in battle, though.
In the evening I taught Calculus II. It was the second class and we were still just about as full, only one person dropped, so four people on the waiting list.
It turns out that it actually IS my reputation that is the reason that the classes are so full! 😀. Students said last night that they had researched and asked around personally as well as on ratemyprofessor and that’s why they’re there!!!
We covered finding the area between curves and finding the volume of solids of revolution by slices (Disk/Washer method).

That is awesome that everyone thinks you are such a great teacher. I wish I would have had a good teacher when I was in Calc II. Congrats on the legendary card. That is awesome. I only have one of those. I am hoping to get more eventually though!
