Splinterlands Gaming Update

From my last post the most significant update in the game are the guilds!

At the moment of writing this post there are 69 guilds already formed in the game. The cost to create a guild is 10k DEC initially and then more DEC to upgrade the guild to be able to take more members in. There are 10 levels for the guild to be upgraded. Guilds start with 15 players for level 1 and reach the maximum of 30 players for level 10. The last levels for upgrading the guild are expensive, 750k DEC for level 9 and a million for level 10.

My Guild

I have joined the PeakMonsters[PREMIER] guild. As the name suggest the guild is sponsored by PeakMonsters. If you are not familiar with PeakMonsters it is a market for Splinterlands cards with a lot of extra futures and profit sharing. Check it out https://peakmonsters.com/market.
The great thing about the guild is that all the upgrades are done from PeakMonsters and the member don’t need to donate DEC for them. It is like a sponsorship for the good players. PeakMonsters have decided to create more then one guild. They have five guilds at the moment: PeakMonsters[PREMIER], PeakMonsters[CHAMPS], PeakMonsters[All-1], PeakMonsters[All-2] and PeakMonsters[All-3]. With the PREMIERE being their top guild. It is ranked at the second place at the moment, just right after the Immortal Gods guild.

What PeakMonsters is doing is creating more guilds, sponsoring their upgrades and make them competitive with allowing mobility between them. For example, for the first two guilds, one can go from CHAMPS to PREMIER if at the end of the season the player is with higher rank and with more scrolls then the last player in the PREMIER guild. Since the players haven’t donated any DEC they don’t loose anything.
Now the daily quests have more weight, and this is putting some pressure on the players. It is pressing me as well. Not sure is it a good thing or a bad thing. On one side it is making sure for the players to be engage in the game and also have all the different type of cards, but also making it a bit more stressful and not fun.

Guild benefits

At the moment the only benefits for being in a guild is the bonus DEC and the shop discount. Here are the different level for the quest lodge.

Our guild is at level 4 with the quest lodge and this is bringing me 4% bonus DEC for each fight at the moment. In total we have made 150 quest at the moment and there is 5 days left until the end of the season. With around 20 to 25 quest per day we will probably reach level 5 until the end of the season. There are rumors that at the end of the season there will be restart in the quest lodge but no detail yet. Will wait and see.

The next big thing in the guilds is the Guilds war. This update is expected to happen in the following weeks and probably will be the main thing about the guilds. There should be some rewards as well and that will make thing interesting. Also, something called fighting the boss will be introduced where guild members will fight against one big monster and try do defeat him.

Personal Status

I’m finishing around the 85th place three seasons in a roll. I have leveled up cards meanwhile but just can’t climb up. The thing is this place is getting more and more competitive. The top players have maxed out decks. If I wasn’t leveling up probably I would of fall in the rankings.

The thing is that I was playing mainly with Selenia first and made in the top 100. In the last seasons I was leveling up the different summoners and cards as well. I still have two summoners that need to be maxed out but I’m renting those at the moment. I need those to do the daily quests for the guild. It is not that costly to rent them. I have maxed out quite a lot of cards, almost all the reward cards and the cards that I’m playing. Still have some cards that I need especially some of the legendary ones.

I leveled up the cards that I use the most, and I’m almost finished with those. Now I’m going for those that are needed in the special ruleset like monsters’ loose abilities (Peaceful Giant) or no arrows (Life Monsters). I believe in a two to three months I will be in a good place with all the cards. Meanwhile hope to get lucky and enter the Champion I League.

I must mention that Splinterands has been draining my share from my other crypto investments. I have been transferring funds from other coins over and over again, growing my collection. It has been played out great for now as it has been the one asset that has been increasing in value, when all other coins are going down. Hopefully soon I will be in a place where I can extract some value out of it.

All the best
