Hey monster maniacs, today I'll share with you a little trick or strategy for when it's your turn to battle in reverse speed, and it has to do with speed modifiers.

Yeah, you read that right, and no, I'm not crazy. A card that puts you at a disadvantage during this ruleset can win you the game, don't you think? Here's how.

The line up

  • Were fire, water, death, and dragon available, I immediately ruled out using fire since my red cards are usually fast, so I decided to use Daria thinking of using some strong and slow melee monster like the Sea Monster.

  • The not-so-fast Manticore would assist my Sea Monter in hurting the friend.

  • Generally many players make the mistake of placing archers too fast during the reverse speed ruleset, my Giant Squid is not only slow, it also has the blind skill that will help my "slow team" dodge enemy attacks.

  • Then I put the Naga to help me weaken enemy archers and break through any enemy shields.

  • In the rear, my "slow" healer who in addition to healing my team will protect him by giving him shields.

  • And finally the star of the team, the Creeping Ooze, but this time in an unusual position, in front of everything, challenging, with courage.

The strategy work?

Magic was my team's Achilles heel and that Phanton Soldier would give me trouble, luckily my creeping Ooze devoured a lot of damage in the first round, preventing my Sea Monster from being knocked out in the first turn and thus giving my team a chance to take down Lord Arianthus fast enough to have a chance of winning. After I managed to shoot down the Phanton Soldier the battle was decided, it would be very difficult for the enemy team to shoot down my Giant Squid while it was being healed by the Crustacean King.

Another important factor that helped me to win the victory is that my enemy used the Ooze in last position, giving an important advantage to my team during the whole game, that's why during this ruleset we must be careful to position well the monsters that modify the speed.

The joke of having an speed modifier in the first line ready to sacrifice is that although in the first round we attack last, in the second we will be faster and the enemy squad in many cases will not have a chance to react, generally will not have used that heal or enraged attack in the first round (since he attacked first) and then in the second round we take advantage.

What did you think of this strategy? Have you ever used it?
