Redrawing my strategy on Splintersland (aka Steemmonsters)

I think that Jarlax the Undead has possessed my luck in the game, I don't find a proper way to advance and keep building my deck on this game (besides the obvious option of purchasing lots of packs). I'm not that willing to buy packs right now because improving my deck by in-game victories is part of the fun (at least that's my opinion), I'm not on Splintersland to farm the game and cash out DEC or Steem... The issue is that I was not able to follow the last few updates of the game and thus are unable to take advantage of the last releases.

For instance, Tournaments and guilds... I'm clueless as how to participate successfully on these events to start earning some more rewards and buy packs from them, I'm not much of a Discord guy and my busy schedule allows me just a few minutes each day to relax playing Steem games (I'm currently on Splintersland, Drugwars, and Nextcolony).

The limitation arises because I only got a blue team able to compete in the silver league and silver tournaments, I have to improve at least one more team, and I also need to be able to clear at least the gold league... So, that's the goal I'm setting for what's left of the year, let's see if it's doable or not.

I really want to be able to have some of the Zintar Mortalis' badass magic and being able to make progress in the game, it doesn't matter if it's a slow progress (as it is on Nextcolony) I just don't want to feel stagnated.

If anyone has a suggestion for me (besides keep collecting reward cards, since that isn't taking me anywhere) please write it in the comment section. I can even spare some time to read about the events on the discord server but constantly engagement there is beyond my possibilities know. I already have my hands full with the people I usually engage with on Steem

Who knows, if I succeed I might even be as mighty as Crypt Mancer
