My Steemmonters Daily Game Results...

avatar

With the new season underway my rating by default drop back below 1200 and ranked Silver III. I went on completing my daily quest with a strategy of completing the quest at rank Silver II to earn 3 reward cards. I ended up completing this it, but it took me almost 3 hours to complete. That is to go from <1200 to >1300, quite literally 100 point spread but it was an up and down path to completion. Please read on as to how this all played out.

My daily quest required me to use the water splinter. Water is among my weakest splinters in the game, probably only dragon is worse. With a level 1 summoner I am stuck with level 1 monsters in all my battles. The plan was to use my strongest splinter to win battles and boost rank while picking water splinter in battles where I thought I would have the advantage. All in all I struggled even to win battles when I used my strongest splinter.

Main reason I think I was struggling is that many of my battles were among opponents that likely were a lot stronger than their ranking suggested. That is because at the beginning of the season everyone's rating reset. Hence my first 10+ felt like a rating tug of war and was only able to get out of it once I got a win streak going. The win streak was short lived as I was stuck for almost another 20 battles in the range of 1200.

The climb over 1300 was reached around my 30th battle however in order to complete the quest I had to earn a couple more wins with the water splinter. This was not an easy task as the next 20 battles resulted in another rating tug of war. Once I got over 1300 I was unable to hold it long as my battles using water splinter led to streak of losses. I went with different splinters and had my rating go back and forth to keep over 1300.

My final battle to complete the daily quest was more of a lucky win than anything else. As the new Untamed cards came out the game also had an update on battle requirements. My last win with water splinter was basically out of one of these updates.

99 mana.JPG

The battle's mana was capped at 99! Which meant players could use unlimited mana in the seven spots of (1) summoner, (6) monsters and I took my highest mana monsters I could get into the bout using water splinter. Also the reverse speed helped in getting my monsters to attack first being that most of them were a (1) or (2) speed. I think I would have lost if my opponent simply went with most mana form rather than a pro-heal earth form.

I won by a very close margin. peakmonster.com listed the match as "expunged" meaning total elimination of my opponent, but on the contrary it was a win by the minimalist of margins.

You can watch the battle in link below:

Close win by @mawit07 at @smon-fan

Won basically because my Goblin Mech had more life than their ranged attack monsters. A close win indeed.

I likely would have been able to reach Silver I a lot sooner if I had just completed the quest at Silver II but I wanted the extra reward card. Well from (2) to (3) reward cards I hope it was worth it. Drum roll please.

The results of my daily reward cards....

Total disappointment! Had to be the lowest value reward cards and might likely be the lowest value cards in the game. (3) of them to be exact. Two plus hours for one more of these cards, just a bad rate of return on investment :P

On the positive I opened my Untamed pack of cards today right around the time after maintenance ended and here is what I got:

I would consider this pack a success as I got a rare and an epic cards! The cards background look awesome too.

Steemmonster everyone and thanks for reading!
