Splinterlands - My Tournament Progressing...

Zoom in to my lucky day! Earned some DEC in a tournament and really happy about it.

Ever since a couple of weeks ago when I earned some DEC in a tournament I have yet to match the same results again until today. I have come to accept that some tournaments are really a luck of the draw when it comes to which opponents I face. In the tournaments before today I have been defeated in the first round. Yet today out of the three tournaments I signed up for I was able to reach top 16 in one of them to earn me some DEC 😄

Round 1 was challenging for me just like every other tournament. I started out with a lost, but ended up going on a 8 win streak. Picture of my first lost:

I ended up winning the next two matches.

Round 2 was a little more challenging as I faced an opponent who had Lord of Darkness and Corrupted Pegasus. I manage to get two wins to move on. Although I think luck was on my side if you do not mind spend a moment to watch the battle Link. His Lord of Darkness misses twice and hence I was able to stay alive and finish eliminating his formation.

Just by comparing formations the stats first lead me to believe I lost before the match even stated. I only had one rare and the remainder were all commons. It goes to show selection of monsters and their positions are important, but I will admit luck was on my side.

Round 3 had to do with luck again. I was basically facing a new player whom still was rated under 1000 and had few cards at his disposal. My opponent dropped out after first lost.

Round 4 was the furthest I have ever been in any tournament, but today I was able to manage two wins to reach round 5. Again in round 4 my opponent had higher rarity cards than me yet I was able to escape to the next round.

Round 5 I basically got swept. Still I was thrilled with the results.

I still ended up ranking just high enough to receive DEC! Again happy that I have improve since last tournament and look forward to improving some more.
