The Lone Boatman crossing the River of Life - SHARE YOUR BATTLE Weekly Challenge!

What is Splinterlands? Splinterlands is a card game, similar with Hearthstone, where you can play battle against other players to get a better rank or in tournaments. It is a NFT game based on Hive Blockchain, but the cryptocurrency rewards (DEC is the name of their native token) can be used on ETH, TRX, WAX and on the lately added Binance Smart Chain. DEC is similar with a stablecoin, most of the time, 1000 DEC being $1.

And now it is easier than before (one of my main complain was about beginners not having enough cards at the start) because they offer quite a lot of cards not to the one starting to play, making it a more pleasant experience - I remember losing game after game when I just started 6 month ago, so I am glad that the developers sorted this out.

This week Battle challenge is The Lone Boatman. With 5 Mana cost, this common card from the Life has 3 Ranged Attack, 2 Armor and 4 Health at max level. It has Snipe at level 1, attacking ranged and magic users, but the only notable ability is that is has 2 Armor and Repair Armor at level 5, being useful for Silver and Gold, especially in some rulesets like the one adding 2 Armor to all cards. At max level (10), it has Shatter ability (destroying armor), but there are many other cards better than this one if you think cost and damage.

A level 10 card will cost you around $11, and the price goes up to $24 if you want the Gold one. But i am not considering this one like a card that I need.

Now let's see how it is working. On my testing game the ruleset was Rise of Commons, with only rare and common monsters available. Mana limit was 44, and I played a team summoned by Tyrus level 5, with Goblin Mech as tank supported by Luminous Eagle, Sandworm and Silvershield Assasin to do the damage, Armorsmith to repair the shield as my Boatman is not level 5, and of course the Boatman itself as last unit. My opponent used a magic boosted team, and I lost (even if I could have won if my unit did not miss the last hit), It was a close battle, and only luck made the other team win. (Well, luck and his cards being one level bigger than mine.)

What do you think about the game, what did I do wrong? Now that I think about, maybe using the Armorsmith before Sandworm could have been better.

On the side note, my continuous support for Splintertalk.io is going well, with my SPT tokens number raising a bit over half a million. 50% target reached and hopefully the 1 million will be done in few months. All of it is delegated to @monster-curator, as this account is doing a great work curating the best posts on the forum. bottom spt.png
