Share your battle - Sand Worm

I haven't published a "Share your battle" post in a while but once I saw this week's card I knew I had to participate @splinterlands! The sandworm is one of my favorite cards in the entire game.

My main deck is fire with Malric Inferno as a summoner so it fits perfectly into my strategy. I find it very successful to fully focus on melting my enemy's team from the back to the front by using a lot of sneaky cards with the +1 bonus from Malric. There is only one counter to this strategy, using a front line with taunt like The Kraken that also demoralizes your melee monsters canceling the +1 bonus. Since the Kraken is a legendary card there aren't that many people using it in battle so I don't worry that much about it, plus its mana cost makes it very impractical for low to mid-range mana battles.

Front line and the crucial assassin

While making a team for high mana cap battle I always start by putting in the most expensive cards that I want to take to battle. I picked Goblin Mech and Fineas rage to take the first two positions, I was immediately worried when I saw the amount of Magic they brought to the battle. Luckily Serpentine Spy was able to eliminate one of his monsters with just one blow and prevent the Goblin Mech from dying on the first round.

Sandworm and back keeper

Whenever I see a high mana cap match I know Sand Worm will be a part of my team and probably the enemies team too! That's why I took mine and placed Ettin Spearmen in the back to be able to take two blows from it and place two attacks on the frontline before heading out. This was not the case because the enemy sandworm was faster and took him out before he could launch his second attack.

Shaman got carried

Goblin Shaman was a mistake. I picked him so that my monsters could deliver an extra attack before they fainted or possibly deliver one-hit K.O's because of the -1 health but that didn't happen during the entire battle. His miserable attack stat of 1 was also expendable, to be honest, I would have won the battle even if I left an empty spot in his place.

Good game

My opponent's cards were quite under-leveled, I was using mostly level 8 common cards while he was using level 5 cards. To compensate he did have a level 3 Lord of darkness that was very hard to deal with, I hate competing against that card. It takes forever to bring him down and he keeps smashing the front line with his raging attack dealing 8 damage and possibly stunning my front line.

GG's everyone and I hope to find you on the battle pit. Not a player yet!? Click the image bellow to join us!
