A fire spitting dragon?

The blast ability would do more justice to its name, but then it would probably be way overpowered! 😄 Fire Spitter is the featured monster in this week's Share your Battle challenge!

I absolutely love this card. It has soo much in its favour:

  • only 4 mana, making it versatile and a decent choice in most of the rulesets
  • decent ranged attack, starting with 2 and then 3 from level 3
  • flying from level 1 and dodge ability at last level; speed is not insane but also not a slow monster, with 4 speed
  • pretty decent health for a 4 mana monster.

For me, its one of the stongest cards in little league ruleset, especially if combined with Selenia for an extra ranged attack point. The flying + dodge can make it a decent choice in the back row to try and dodge sneak attacks while providing decent damage. And of course, flying = great to use in earthquake rulesets as well!

All things considered, it's hard to find something I DON'T like in the card!

Off to the chosen battle! I feel this one was a little off balanced to my favour, but it was the most decent battle I could find to share this week.

Rulesets:

  • Little league: only monsters with 4 mana or less, one of my favourites to use the fire spitter
  • Equal opportunity: every monster has opportunity skill

My daily mission was with Dragon splinter; besides, I love to use Selenia in little league ruleset, for the extra ranged damage.

Strategy:

Water splinter is strong in little league, especially if complemented with the dragon monsters. Being an equal opportunity ruleset either, had to change my lineup a little bit from my usual.

  • Turtle as a tank: thorns ability and big health and armor, a great little league tank
  • Electric eels: great as offtank, here in this ruleset even better, with the blast ability, given it could strike in the middle of the line up and cause damage to three diferent monsters!
  • Serpentine mystic: good health, and slow ability: with equal opportunity, speed is even more important! And the magic damage would be useful to hit the armored opponents.
  • Medusa: good magic damage and stun
  • Crustacean king for the tank heal and especially the shield
  • Fire spitter in the back row; the position here wasn't that important given the ruleset.

My opponent probably forgot the equal opportunity ruleset: using the enchanted defender in the back is a great idea normally, but having only 1 health meant it would be the first target, and any magical attack would finish him. The legendary card nerfed my magical atack, but I still had a lot of firepower.

At the second round I had already cleared the two back row monsters, and the fire spitter one-shotted the spirit shaman, removing the bad debuffs. A few more strikes and...

Fires spitter delivering the killing blow at the beginning of round 3! You can see the full battle here.

Mine is still at level 5, but will probably do the extra effort to put him at max level, since more and more I spend my season on diamond league. How about you? Is fire spitter one of your frequently used cards?

See you on the battlefield!

at thou at 4 mana cost, this card, I think is the perfect imitation of cocatrice in range form. Liked your line up. keep playing splinterlands and post awesome content like this!
