Poisonous mushrooms

But these poisonous mushrooms are the battling kind! For this week's share your battle contest, one card from one of my most used splinters.

This strange guy can be really helpful in the battlefield, especially when you're facing an opponent that relies on magical attack. Because from base level, he has the silence ability, crippling those magical attackers. And from level 5, he adds poison to his arsenal!

His main cons? Low health, low speed.

Until level 6, with only 4 HP, he's rather squishy. Especially since he has 3 magical attack from level 6 onwards; even with magical reflections alone he can get killed in a couple of rounds. That's why I like to use him especially in the only commons ruleset, where there are less monsters with the reflect ability.

My main reason for using him thow, is if I suspect my opponent is using a magical attack build. The silence ability can be really powerful!

Check the next battle, for example:

Rulesets:

  • Melee monsters can attack from any position
  • No healing

In rulesets without heals, stong magical attacks are normally used. Since I wanted to use the seer and had a suspicion my opponent would user the water splinter, I went for this team, escaping from the more common strategy to pack strong melee attacks.

Strategy:

  • Lord A in the front, strong tank and magical reflect
  • Prismtic energy, fast and magic reflect
  • Sand worm, to try and get those back row monsters
  • Mushroom Seer, for the void and poison
  • Spirit of the forest; although no heals, shield and fast strike alone are enough reasons to be in the team
  • Cornealus, with thorns to protect agains sneak attacks, and another strong ranged attack

Mushroom Seer fit like a glove: since my tank had magic resistance, this card alone rendered all magic attack enemy monsters useless, lowering their magical attack to one; and right on the first round, poisoned the enemy tank too!

Since he was taking damage only from two monsters, Lord Arianthus kept resisting for longer than I would imagine, which is always good!

Since there were almost no monsters with reflect on the lineup, the seer was able to survive, and kept damaging the opponent's team.

And even when he enraged the Orc, he landed poison as well! From there, and with 5 cards still left in the game against the two from my opponent, it was an easy win. You can check the whole battle here!

Overall, although squishy, its a card I tend to use somewhat frequently! How about you? Any favourite strategies with the Seer?

See you on the battlefield!

Thanks for sharing! - @ashikstd

This poisonous mushroom is a fantastic choice when it comes to doing the battle with the earth splinter, isn't it?
Well done with your strategy.
Keep on battling.
