The big bad Sea Monster!

This week's Share your Battle challenge is with one of my favourite cards: the Sea Monster!

This is probably the most used tank by far in the lower leagues! Despite its high mana, the huge attack, healing, and high health makes it a must-have card:

Healing from level 1!
High attack, starting with 4 melee, rising to 5 on level 4 only AND gaining thorns ability on level 6.
High HP, starting with 8 and rising to 9 from level 3, with means 3 HP healing en each round.

And one of the best things about this card... it's cheap!! Combine it with crustacean king, and you have from level 3 a card with 4 attack, 3+3 heal on each round, and 9 HP: a true beast! Its only drawbacks: high mana, and low speed.

In higher leagues I use it a little bit less, but its still one of my favourite tanks, especially in the rulesets where we can't use legendaries, as in the only commons or in the no neutrals ruleset. And that's exactly the ruleset of my battle!

Ruleset: No neutrals

Despite the higher level of my cards and the Sea Monster's strenght, I was unsure if this would be a win when I saw the line up. My strategy was tanking with the Sea Monster, backup with stun with medusa, the crustacean king for the healing and shield, and the naga windmaster in the back to debuff archers and protect the crustacean from sneak attacks. The debuff was useless since the opponent didn't use archers, but it still served its purpose because of the sneak attack from the assassin.

The thorns helped reducing the haunted spirit's health so it could be killed in the first round. Nevertheless, there was another off tank and with magic resistance. At round 3 both my naga and medusa were gone; at the front was a very fast card, and both sea monster and crustacean are very slow, so I could be in trouble if my target kept dodging. Luckily for me...

Out on the first try. And from there, the low health cards were no match for the Sea Monster.

Sea monster + crustacean king was likely my most used combination in silver league, when we only had alpha and beta collection. And to this date, is still a very valid strategy!
