Steem-Monsters

Two and a half months ago (7/12/2019) I decided to keep track of the remaining Beta Booster supply that are sold on the official Steem-Monsters market. I usually give an update of the progress every two weeks or so and that two weeks is up.

Part 1 / Part 2 / Part 3 / Part 4 / Part 5 / Part 6

As predicted the last 100,000 Boosters didn't take long to sell. Our last report on (9/24/2019) we had 81,000* (9%) Beta boosters left. Here we are not even two weeks later (10/07/2019) with 0 Beta Boosters left on the official market.

It seems like just yesterday that Beta Boosters were introduced with what seemed to be a massive supply of 900,000 total Beta packs. This 900,000 supply was three times bigger than the Alpha edition supply of 300,000.

What If I Want More Beta Boosters???

While you have 0 chance of buying Beta Boosters from the official Steemmonsters (Splinterlands) marketplace its still possible to buy them in a private sale from your fellow monster maniac. Alternatively you can also purchase Beta Boosters on the Steem-Engine exchange from resellers. Currently the price for a once $2 Beta Boosters is $2.12 on the Steem-Engine exchange and that price is likely to rise.

What's Next???

With Beta Boosters sold out and new players being introduced to the game daily you can bet there will be a new set of boosters being introduced. The new series of cards that will be released will be called UNTAMED. The total supply of Untamed boosters that will be for sale is still unknown. What is known is there will be no reprints of previous cards in the untamed edition, we're getting a brand new deck!

A NEW DECK?? I want them NOW ...

Calm down, they can't be purchased yet. Instead the founders decided that there will be no boosters for sale from the official market place for a set period of time. So we will need to be patient and wait to see what the founders have in store for us next.

Think of this time as a chance to raid the individual card market for potential deals you may otherwise of missed out on. I hope you all enjoyed following along with these brief updates. I for one found it interesting to watch the Beta Supply dwindle from the official market but today it's all over as there's none left. I look forward to repeating this process with UNTAMED!

If you stumbled upon my topic and have no clue what I'm talking about >> Steem-Monsters/Splinterlands is a digital card game created by @aggroed and @yabapmatt. Early game release has launched and prizes are already up for grabs. Some of the cards in this game have already sold for upwards of $3000. These cards can be found in Booster Packs or can be attained via buying them directly from the official market.

Prize Money tournaments have started and thousands of dollars worth of Steem and DEC (In Game Currency) have already been given out. If you haven't yet, check out Splinterlands/Steem-Monsters by clicking here. You can sign in to the official site using your Steem details.

***Beta Boosters have already jumped from $2.12 to $2.80+ on Steem-Engine. That's a 70 cent jump within an hours time from what I last reported in the opening topic.

So many holes in my deck and beta ran out l. Too bad my wallet ran dry before I could finish it off.

Not sure what I will do for the next series, I may focus on buying off the market vs buying packs. At over 650 packs, I think I may have a better deck if I just bought singles, then again I will never get a GFL that way.

I bought 99% of my collection via Boosters as well. Its certainly cheaper to buy singles but as you noted, there's no chance at hitting a GFL for $2 going that route.

Good luck with completing your deck!

I hear you, but those booster packs are just so much fun to open. I thought so, anyway. I was buying them even when it got to the point at which I only needed a handful of cards from the entire series. I wouldn't get most of them in the packs, but I did still get cards that were worth more than $2 a bunch of times.

Its hard to believe that 300,000 and 900,000 boosters have sold already.

Keep it up with all the great work you do @clove71

Hi,

  • Community Guideline for TripleA
please be advised that the tag AAA is used for TripleA, which is focusing on Movie and Drama reviews. The team behind TripleA is countermeasuring the abuse of the tag and the final stage would be a permanent blacklist of the account from TripleA after this warning.

Hope to see you at TripleA with a great movie review on your next posting.

I thought AAA was for all reviews which my post is a review of the Beta Addition boosters sold on the Steem blockchain game Steemmonsters. Reading the guidelines I can see that is not the case.

I will refrain from using the tag from this point on unless its TV/MOVIE related review.

It's over, it's over, it's over! Now the question arises, what to do with our booster packs. Selling on Steem-Engine or open them for those juicy cards which have already risen in value?

Great write-up, the Mavericks curation monster has send you some #spt love.

Thanks for the upvote!

If those beta packs were mine they would be already opened :)

I managed to get 50 a day or two before it stopped, but that was it. I don't have the kinds of funds I did when I started playing this game. Go figure! :)

I do have a collection that, besides my cars and homes, is probably the most valuable thing I own. Actually, even one of the cards we have in my family is probably worth less than my collection is.

Unlike the cars, the value on the collection keeps going up. It jumped $2000 in a week.

I use to buy them daily as well but stopped. Sounds like your collection is worth a bit more then mine but mine has jumped up in value a good $800 over the past week or so as well.

It's awesome, isn't it? Now I just hope the new cards don't render any of them less valuable somehow by making them obsolete or something.
