Unfortunate Soul: Get Beta Packs Before They're GONE Part Four

(Visit parts 1,2 & 3 via clicking the highlighted areas below)

About six weeks ago (7/12/2019) I decided to keep track of how long it would take to sell the remainder Beta Booster Pack Supply. The original topic was called Get Beta Packs Before They're GONE. At that time we had 31% (*275,000) of Beta Booster packs remaining.

About Two Weeks after the initial topic (07/25/2019) I created a Part 2 to the series and at that time there was 26% (234,000) of the total Beta supply remaining.

On 8/10/2019 I created Part 3 and at that time we had just 21% or 190,000 Beta Booster packs remaining.

The secondary goal of these topics is to serve as a reminder to everyone as to how fast the last 100,000 of ALPHA Booster Packs were sold. For those who may not of known, FOMO hit hard and the last 100,000 ALPHA packs vanished very quickly and I suspect the same will happen to BETA BOOSTERS.

Today (8/26/2019) we have just 18% (161,000) of Beta Booster packs remaining for sale in the official Steem-Monsters/Splinterlands market. 18% being left isn't much as we have some big spenders in the Steem-Monsters community and that 18% could quickly become 0%.

One of the founders of Splinterlands/Steem-Monsters, stopped by the original topic and gave a prediction:

Personally I think his prediction is 100% possible because as I noted in the previous topics, once the BETA supply dwindles down to about 100,000 Packs I suspect a mad dash to purchase what remains. It will be interesting to see how long the remainder packs last and if @aggroed is indeed right with his prediction.

We are about 45 days into his prediction

If we take a closer look at Booster sales over the past six weeks there is a pattern. As noted above, I started keeping track when there was 31% of Beta Boosters remaining (every *two weeks giving an update).

The first three updates has the supply of Beta Booster Packs shrinking by 5%. Today's update the total supply has shrunk by 3%. What this tells me is we haven't hit FOMO territory yet as if we did the sold percentage would have increased not decreased for the past two weeks.

While I don't believe we are in FOMO territory yet, I do believe we are dangerously close to it. So if you're planning on buying some BETA packs it would be wise to do it sooner rather then later as the supply of BETA boosters is dwindling and I wouldn't want to be the unfortunate soul who forgets to buy some.

If you stumbled upon my topic and have no clue what I'm talking about >> Steem-Monsters/Splinterlands is a digital card game created by @aggroed and @yabapmatt. Early game release has launched and prizes are already up for grabs. Some of the cards in this game have already sold for upwards of $3000. These cards can be found in Booster Packs or can be attained via buying them directly from the official market.

Prize Money tournaments have started and thousands of dollars worth of Steem have already been given out. If you haven't yet, check out Splinterlands/Steem-Monsters by clicking here. You can sign in to the official site using your Steem details. Currently (8/10/2019) we are in the Beta Edition but I suspect the Beta Packs won't be around much longer.

The last alpha pack sale will come in a looooong time.

Surely someone who has 1 alpha pack laying around has left the community, and we will never get to it :D

Very true .....

I won't be the one holding any Boosters .... I open them as soon as I get them.

Being able to buy second hand packs is defiantly affecting direct sales too. If I can buy packs for 1800(iirc) DEC from ottermaker, why would I pay more to get it from steem monsters?

Private sales / Steem-Engine are a few other ways players can purchase packs for less than the $2 face value.

I don't think that'll affect something, Ottermaker buys them from Steem Monsters.

Ottermaker was out for some time. I’m sure that there were people who didn’t buy packs cuz buying direct isn’t as cheap.

Damn you, @rentmoney...
I've been fighting FOMO for a couple of weeks now (quite unsuccessfully, I must add - I have bought way too many already). Today, it has been kicking in again. I've been trying to restrain myself to get some more all day. Your post isn't helping.... LMAO!

I guess I'll get some more. But that's all on you ;0P

LOL .....

I bought 20 yesterday and I was lucky enough to hit a Hydra and a legendary summoner. It was nice not getting negative ROI for a change.

Good luck with your pack openings. I take full credit if you hit a GFL and will bow my head in shame if you get negative ROI :P

These guys are proof that with work and dedication, as well as a good idea, you can make a million dollar project in the steem blockchain.

You could be right. Just viewing some of the cards and current market prices we are beginning to reach arbitrage points sooner than people think in just buying the packs. The token packs on steem-engine are slowly working their way down, then you add on top of that retail discounts buying direct that is very possible. Getting beta packs at 10+ steem today was pretty sweet and being able to move some of the cards I felt being a little more highly priced than the others to continue chasing a Rennyn was a lot of fun. Betas are now far more entrenched as having the true utilitarian value of playing the cards every day versus what the slowly extinct alpha cards are becoming in overwhelming price per BCX, let alone per card that is playable at any kind of decent level.

Being sold out by Nov. is very possible. I suspect an eventual mad dash from the SM community to buy some of the last remaining boostesr will take place at some point.
