Yesterday's Garbage, Today's Treasure

Local teen, Artemis Rennet, was elated to discover, on their walk to Centre Market this morning, several discarded land tokens along the road today. Artemis did exactly what any good citizen would do and brought the tokens directly to the Magistrate.

As with most found objects, the process involves a public declaration. After which any claimants are brought forth and vetted to see if their claims are accurate. The recent addition of a year of hard labour for claimants fabricating their claim has helped reduce the number of false claims drastically.

The Gazette reached out to Artemis for a comment:

"I never thought in my life I'd ever be able to own land, let alone somewhere as far away as Praetoria. I'm going to set up a little cheese shop over there. It will be grand."

Artemis is the child of cheesemaker Irene Rennet, owner of The Chellroot Alehouse and Cheesery. The Gazette wishes Artemis and their family well.

Dark Eternal Recruitment Drive

A group of Dark Eternals set up a small pavilion outside the southern gates yesterday. Their stated goal is to offer anyone who wishes it a chance to join them in their quest for the Dark Reality. While not typical of the Dark Eternals, representatives have stated that only those willing to consciously accept a Dark Contract will be considered.

In addition, there will be grief counselling services available to anyone who requires them. If you have suffered a loss, the Dark Eternals want to help.

The Dark Eternals are known to be mostly peaceful unless provoked, despite rumours to the contrary. Concerns of citizens in the city's south wards are tending towards the potential for violence from the anti-undeath activists currently preparing a massive protest. Their stated goal is to drive the Dark Eternals back beyond the southern mountains.

Local authorities remain on guard for potential violence.

Mysterious Mapmaker

An odd fellow with bundles of parchment strapped to his back was seen moving about the city today. Notebook in hand, he seemed to be sketching various locations. Under normal circumstances this would likely not be noteworthy, but during his tour the man was accosted by several anti-ogre protestors.

According to witnesses, this man approached an ogre-owned butcher shop where protests are still ongoing against owner Bort Bal Dok. The map maker stepped between the protestors and the business in order to enter. At that moment the protestors acted.

The scuffle ended in minor injuries on all sides and authorities are looking into whether charges will be pressed.

Yeah, I think those are my land tokens. Oh wait...a year of hard labour? Nope, those are not my land tokens! Got mine right here. I was looking in the wrong pocket.
