New Colosseum Opens Doors

Entrepreneur and combat enthusiast @marcuswahl has opened a new fighting arena, The Colosseum, outside Beluroc's northern gate. Preliminary tournaments have proven moderately successful and @marcuswahl has stated he will take feedback into account and adjust his tournament structure to better interest the populace and the contestants.

The entrepreneur intends to increase the amount of winning positions and is hopeful to generate some constructive criticism. When asked directly whether he will continue his project, he responded:

"I really want to, but I want to be honest too, could use some support back too lol"

The Gazette will always support local and unique businesses, it is our opinion that everyone should go and visit the new arena both live (https://www.twitch.tv/splinterlandsdotcom) or through the registration office to the left of the main arena entrance (https://splinterlands.com/?p=tournaments).

Wandering Badger Befriends Dog

A massive mountain badger wandered into the small farming community of Redbridge and has found a most unlikely friend.

The badger, nicknamed Randy for reasons unfit for publication, was originally found rummaging through one of the garbage dumps. The dump's owner, Irene Flempkin, tell the story this way:

"So I come out the house, eatin' my sandwich, an' it was a good'un too, but that ain't neither here nor there about it. But I see, that is to say I saw, this big'ole badger fella layin' on'is back while the pooch, that is to say Zyla my dog, was bitin' him up all playful-like."

The story did get slightly more colourful after that point. Regrettably it would be inappropriate to publish such verbiage. The Gazette both regrets and stands by the omission.

Suffice it to say there is a new couple in town and you do not want to try and separate them.

Rogue Summoner

Shortly after dusk on the night of the Colosseum's grand opening, a summoner participating in the games allegedly had entirely too much to drink at one of the local pubs.

The summoner, who shall remain nameless for legal reasons, caused a tremendous amount of damage during a now notoriously filed attempt to impress one of the wait staff. The sudden appearance of a Lightning Dragon, even momentarily before the error was realized, caused a massive amount of damage to the establishment,

Witnesses did give reports to The Gazette, however due to the ongoing legal battle, we are prevented from recounting them presently.

The Council of Barons issued a proclamation regarding the incident:

"Whosoever calls themselves a summoner is now and henceforth restricted from any and all summoning outside the arena. Any summoner caught breeching the peace by summoning any creature or being will be punished to the full extent of the law."

The Gazette learned that there may indeed be dire consequences for anyone guilty of such breaches of the peace, including fines, imprisonment and forced labour at any number of mining camps. Summoners beware and mind your drinks.
