I could be wrong on herons, but I don't think the cards are burned I would assume the DEC is split between the person using the account and the person who owns the account. I'm assuming the person who runs herons then owns that card and either puts it on the Splinterlands market, or holds it in hopes of getting a better price in the future, but don't quote me on this.
I'm too coming to the same struggle at this point. I do enjoy playing, but don't play enough to justify just letting the cards sit around, not in my eyes, so debating selling the cards to focus on maxing out more legendaries to rent, or just purchase some more packs in hopes of an airdropped legendary. The struggle is real.
Yeah, I hear you. I guess my understanding was when you convert a card to DEC you are burning it. I also thought that the herons accounts just convert everything to DEC indiscriminately and split the gains. I could be wrong though.
