Congrats to our champions @steallion & @cranium on an outstanding Splinterlands season!

Whose got this house on lock? These two champs right here!

Like everything in life "there's levels to this shit", and Splinterlands is no different. Being the best at what you do doesn't happen by fluke, a bit of luck always helps but it's the drive, determination, mindset, and the commitment to their craft that makes a champion.

Congrats to @steallion & @cranium on both finishing top 10 this past season!

Both these guys are part of the @battlegames Team, among our first backers to step forward and contribute to our crowdfund to build the battlegames.io platform that we call home. They're both now active curators and content creators on the platform, you guys rock!

One thing I've learned over the years is if you want to be the best, learn from the best! We wanted to take a few minutes to recognize excellence so we sat down with them and asked a few questions. Have a read as these two offer a glimpse into the life of a champion and what it takes to finish on top of the leaderboard amongst thousands of players!

Interview with @steallion - 7th Place Finish

BattleGames - Is this your first time finishing top 10? [I know it's not but wanted to see how he responded]

Steallion - No, it's my 3rd time when I'm in the top 10, and I started playing the game [Splinterlands] after the completion of Alpha!

BG - That's a bit of a humble brag right there! How was this season compared to last? What was the difference this time around?

Steallion - This season was very tough compared to last one, this time I battled more and more to reach the top spots. This season everyone tried to kill us with different types of techniques..but they can't! This season I watched many new players emerge on the top spots and that was a challenge to us all.

BG - Was this a late push to the top 10 or did you get an early start this time around?

Steallion - I learned from my own mistakes and followed other top players, I learned a lot, so I decided I'll move my foot for a top 10 spot at the last minute. I successfully reached that goal and occupied 7th spot. But not all seasons are the same and I dont know about this season so we will see what happens. I'll try my best to remain in a top spot but for this season my goal is to finish 1st or 2nd place.

Battlegames - Awesome, set your goals high! Without giving away too many secrets, what tips do you have for aspiring champions out there looking to one day top the leaderboards?

Steallion - Ah, there's no secret behind this game, all you have to do is put your best Team against the enemy...and definietly you'll win. It doesnt matter what level deck you're playing with, the rule sets are very important for your play. But sometimes you have to play off rules to get the win, and it's war so that's fair. If a player wants to compete for a top spot then they need an all MAXED Team, and if they want to learn they should follow the Top players, you can watch their battles for better clarity.

Battlegames - So that's it, set your goals, put together a MAX deck and study how the best do it and you can learn what it takes to be a champ. Thanks for taking the time to answer some questions for us, much appreciated!

Interview with @cranium - 10th Place Finish

BG - Is this your first time finishing top 10? [I know it's not but wanted to see how he responded]

Cranium - This is the second time that at the end of the season I am in the Top 10.

BG - A truly humble champion here! How was this season compared to last? What was the difference this time around?

Cranium - Last season ended at 5am in the morning my time, so due to the fact that I was not online for the last few hours I finished in 26th place. Although when I went to bed I was in 13th place.

BG - Wow ok, goes to show that it really helps to be online right up to the final buzzer to keep earning points to stay on top. Otherwise you risk dropping down as other players continue to climb past you. I'm not sure I would even be able to sleep knowing there's only a couple hours left in the season. Was this a late push to the top 10 or did you get an early start this time around?

Cranium - A few hours before the end of the season I shared 6-7th place with @bji1203. After that I just hoped that I could stay in the top 10.

Battlegames - Looks like it worked out! I can see a crazy 3 way tie for 11th, glad you weren't part of that mess and you stayed in 10th! Without giving away too many secrets, what tips do you have for aspiring champions out there looking to one day top the leaderboards?

Cranium - Be patient, more money and MUST play in tournaments - this is the best training of your skills. Take for example @jacekw, who consistently plays about 1,000 fights in his main account. To compete in the Champions League you need a deck with almost all cards of the maximum level.

Battlegames - Awesome, thanks for the insights. You're saying tournaments are great practice! I'm thinking the pressure to perform on the spot helps when the going gets tough in the final days and hours of the season and your season results are on the line.

Thanks for taking the time to answer some questions for us, much appreciated!

A big thanks to our champs for answering some questions for us and offering us some insight into what it takes to be a champ!

Proud to have you guys on the Team!
