English

Finally, the time has come - a project I have been working on for a long time has seen the light of day: the German translation of the world's most popular blockchain game, Splinterlands, is available!

In the first few months I translated somewhat cumbersome directly in the json files provided to me, but in the last few weeks everything progressed much faster with the help of the program Crowdin, which is specially designed for such tasks and, for example, during translation always shows me similar passages of text that I had already previously translated.

It's a pleasure and an honour for me to be now an official 'part' of the fascinating Splinterlands project! Thanks for your patience and support @yabapmatt and @aggroed!

From now on, anyone who wants to can switch the Splinterlands GUI to German, to test it, search for bugs or just enjoy playing the game without having to use a translation program. :-)

Of course, this first version is not yet completely error-free. For example, I immediately noticed already during the first test that I had written "SCHLIESSEN" with "SS" instead of "ß" (don't ask me why!). Well, of course this naturally peeves a perfectionist like me and represents the perfect opportunity for revenge for everyone who had to suffer from corrections of the grammar pedant @jaki01 in the past! :)

Apart from such obvious misperformances of the translator, there were several text passages where I found it very difficult to decide which term was the most appropriate. For example, should I refer to upcoming events as "Veranstaltungen", "Turniere" or "Events"? "Turniere" is a German word and also short and concise ... However, it is not certain that all future events will always be solely tournaments. Or should be the English "Events", which is known to most Germans, the best solution? For the time being, I decided on "Veranstaltungen", but in this case, as well as in many others, I am interested in your opinion. So please feel free to make suggestions for improvements (even if I might not be able to consider every single one in future updates of the translation)!

But now I don't want to keep you any longer from successfully completing the current season! Have fun and much luck playing! :)

Deutsch

edit: Du schreibst statt "delegated" "vermietet".
