The Perfect Timing

“You looked just like my late dad”, Matthew said, being polite and honest.

Matthew sighted a beautiful girl from a distance entering her compound. She decided to beckon on her but then she could not hear him. After that day, he tried to relate it with his friend who had been in the town for years. This was when he was told that the owner of the house has a daughter, but he is so tough and wicked.

Matthew later figured out ways of meeting the pretty girl.

Matthew stood by the road side waiting patiently for more than three hours.
“How am I going to get this girl? She is just too pretty and besides, I'm ready to marry her if and only if she gives me a good answer”, Matthew said to himself as he was tired of waiting. He left for his abode that day and came back the following day. He waited for almost throughout that day until she finally came out of her house. Immediately Matthew saw her coming, he adjusted and maintained his stand. He searched his body to see if something was missing or if he did not do something right.

“Hey, baby? How are you?” He threw words at her.
“I'm fine”, she replied.
“Please, can I speak with you for a moment?” He asked.
Meanwhile, she looked at Matthew and discovered that he was looking handsome and gorgeous. She observed critically and paused for a while. “Hope no problem?” She asked.
“I just want to have a word with you”, Mathew replied.
“Alright, go ahead, but hope you are not going to waste my time because my dad is waiting for me patiently?” she replied.
“I won't only if you grant me what I want in time”, Mathew answered.
“I'm Matthew, and you?”
“Esther”, she replied.

“You are pretty and a damsel which I have been observing for some time now. I'm new here and just want to have someone around me and someone to call mine. After searching, I found too many unripe apples out there while some were decayed but the only one left up there was just too ripe and was only made for me, I guess. Thank goodness you came out. I only sighted you from a distance and have feelings for you which I cannot hide”, Matthew said.

As he was talking, Esther was busy looking at his eyes and his skin. He signed deep inside of her and said to herself “this is my kind of man”.

Mathew continued, “I just want you to be mine”.
“While so fast? We have not even known each other yet and here you are saying you want me to be yours? You know that's not possible”, Esther replied as she proceeded to where she was sent. She only did that to see if Matthew truly meant what he was saying.
“Ok, can we meet at the Enrich Gate Restaurant at the same time tomorrow?” Matthew asked.
“I may not come, but would just try”, Esther replied.

Matthew went to the restaurant and began to stretch his neck just to see if Esther was coming. Suddenly, he received a tap on his back.
“Hey, how are you? It's good to see you here. I have been expecting you for more than an hour now”, Mathew said.

They began conversation and Esther got lost after gazing at Matthew's handsomeness. She could not wait to say “Yes”.
It was a romantic one and they started dating. Their relationship got to its peak where Matthew had to buy a ring just to propose to Esther. He tried to look around if he could see a man matured enough to be his dad just because of the promise he had made to his dad (I will propose to my upcoming wife in your presence). Now that he is late, he had to use someone to replace him just as what his dad told him (even when I'm not alive, use someone to replace me when you want to do that). After searching, he could not see anyone matured enough to be his dad and so he decided to go ahead.

He knelt down in the present of everyone in the restaurant. He made it so unique and proclaimed from his voice “will you marry me?” Deep down in the eyes of Esther, she was so excited but then she thinks of what her dad would say when he sees her with a ring.

As Mathew knelt waiting for an answer, the ring flung from his hand and dropped on where no one knew. Everyone began to search and this time it was a critical search. He stood up and searched everywhere for the ring. Esther on the other hand was searching seriously but the ring was nowhere to be found.

Meanwhile, Esther's dad got prepared at home ready to go to the restaurant to get himself some chilled drink as it was a burning afternoon. As he got to the door post of the restaurant, he saw a shining golden ring on the floor. He picked it and wanted to give it to the waitress before observing a scene. No one observed his presence as they were all lost in searching.

Mathew went towards the door just to see whether he would find the ring. They all got tired of finding. Mathew bulged into Mr Bayou and greeted him nicely, although he had not seen him before. He had never for once gone to Esther's abode just because of her fearful dad. With the way he greeted, he knew Mathew would be some of these nice guys.
“Are you looking for something?” He said.
“Yes, dad, I mean Sir. I'm looking for a ring” Matthew replied.
“this?” Mr Bayou raised the ring up as he showed it to Matthew.

“You have saved my day, Sir and my relationship. Can you please come and be my dad? I want to propose to my girlfriend. My dad died some years ago. I promised to do this in his presence, but he said I should call someone to replace him when he is not alive. I tried to search around, but saw no one. You looked just like my dad. Maybe you are sent here by him”, Matthew said.

“Ok, I will not reject your offer”, Mr Bayou said.
As he entered and sat, Mathew called the attention of everyone and said “I want to use this man as my dad as this was what I was supposed to do as a part of the promise I made to my dad before he gave up the ghost”, Matthew said.

As Esther raised up her head, it was her dad she saw. She wanted to run away, but then Mr Bayou had seen her. “Don't worry, young lady, I'm your fiance's dad. Just stay and let's do this together “.
“But Dad “, as she mentioned, fear gripped Mathew and did not know what to do. “Don't worry, son, I saw in you how nice you are. So, I will give you my consent as Esther's father and will give Esther my consent as your Dad”.

This got Esther and Matthew relieved.
“Dad, are you sure of what you are saying?” Esther wanted to confirm because of his dad's harsh attitude.

“Go ahead, son and daughter “, Mr Bayou said.
Matthew knelt again and proposed to Esther by placing the ring in her finger. Everyone as well as Mr Bayou clapped….
