Battle Mage Secrets Challenge - Holy Protection

Greetings to all and sundry on this great platform, I welcome you all to my blog and today I write to participate in this week's challenge. This is going to be my fourth participation in the weekly challenge and I am very happy to be part of the Splinterlands family. I hope that you guys would like my entry. Without much ado, I would like to go straight to the purpose of this post. Today, the battle ruleset is "Holy Protection" and I would submit my entry to that here in this post including a video of my battle.

Per the Ruleset of the game, All units gain the Divine Shield ability which reduces the damage of the first attack received to zero. I used my personal account @abu78 in participating in this battle. I am currently playing in the Silver stage. Before I demonstrate my battle here, let's briefly look into the Ruleset of the game.

Holy Protection

Ruleset IconDescription
Holy Protection
All units gain the Divine Shield ability which reduces the damage of the first attack received to zero. Divine Shield will be re-applied when a unit is Resurrected. Blast damage will remove Divine Shield. Monsters that normally have this ability do not get it twice. The trick to winning in this ruleset is to fill all 6 slots of your lineup and use monsters with Blast and Double Strike. Use a monster or summoner that has Resurrect to use this ruleset at its maximum potential.

Holy Protection can be found with the following Rulesets

Summoner:

I chose Obsidian summoner so that my monsters would get an increase in magic. It was a 35-mana game condition and I have to manage my card selection to suit that. In using the Obsidian summoner, I decided to get cards that attack with magic so I can have their attack increased. I also considered selecting monsters that can attack with high damage as well but I did also forget to add Psychic Goblin to restore my first monster lives when damaged.

1st Position:

Unicorn Mustang, this card has the ability to reduce magic attack effects from other monsters. It is a level 1 monster and it has 10 lives with no armor. It has a speed of 4 with 3 melee attacks. It cost 8 mana.

Round 1:

First of all, all monsters took their effect from the summoner by gaining extra magic, my opponent’s summoner reduced my monster's speed by 1. Regal Peryton from my lineup attacked first but the divine protection protected its attack. Range attack from Dhampir Stalker monster of my opponent damaged two lives of my first positioned monster.

Also, the Unicorn Mustang monster made an attack on his cursed windeku monster but got a thorns damage as well. My other three monsters with the smallest speed were also attacked by magic and were able to finally kill his first monster. At the end of the first round, I was able to kill his first monster.

Round 2:

Round two then began and as usual, my Regal Peryton with the highest speed attacked first but was prevented from attack because of holy protection. Unicorn Mustang then attacked and got off the armor. His Dhampir Stalker monster attacked me which was followed by an attack from Magi Chaos.

My three magic monsters then attacked it and finished it there. Psychic Goblin then restored my first monster’s lives back to 5 after several damages.

Round 3:

In this round, I was still having my six monsters alive whilst my opponent was left with just 4 monsters in his lineup. I gain the confidence of winning this at ease now. My Unicorn Mustang monster was killed in this round and I was also able to kill his Venari Bonesmith monster and Dhampir Stalker monster as well. At the end of this round, I was left with five monsters whilst my opponent was left with two monsters in his lineup.

Round 4:

In this round with two monsters left for my opponent, and I think he can’t take this battle to the next round again because I was going to finish him at that spot.

He missed all his attacks on my Regal Peryton monster after which in just two attacks I killed his Magi Chaos monster remaining that of ravewood warden. Psychic Goblin with 3 magic attacks was able to finish all its three lives and that was the end of the battle.

This was how my battle went and I won it with ease. I think going with magic monsters when Holy Protection is given is a good options as well. It was a successful selection for me in this battle and I think my strategy for going in for the obsidian summoner was a great one. Thank you all for your time and attention for going through my post. A link to my battle is provided here Battle Link
