Battle Mage Secrets Weekly Challenge - Briar Patch (thorns) Ability Ruleset

Greetings to all and sundry on this great platform, I welcome you all to my blog and today I write to participate in this week's battle mage secrets weekly challenge. I am very happy to be part of the Splinterlands family. I hope that you guys would like my entry. Without much ado, I would like to go straight to the purpose of this post. Today, the battle ruleset is "BRIAR PATCH" and I would submit my entry to that here in this post including a video of my battle.

Per the ruleset of the game, When hit with a Melee attack, does damage back to the attacker. Has an upper cap of 2 I used my account @abu78 to participate in this battle. I am currently playing in the Silver league of the Wild Format. Before I demonstrate the battle here, let's briefly look into the Ruleset of the game.

BRIAR PATCH

Ruleset Icon	Description
Briar Patch	When hit with a Melee attack, does damage back to the attacker. Has an upper cap of 2. Summoner Mylor Crowling gives this ability to every friendly monster at the start of a battle
Even Stevens	Only Monsters with even Mana costs may be used in battles. There are no special tricks for this ruleset, but having an idea of the mana points of a few monsters helps in predicting what your opponent can and cannot use.
	Melee and Ranged attacks always hit their target. Blind, flying, and dodging are useless. This Ruleset doesn't give Ranged monsters the ability to attack from the first position. Choose higher speed or higher health combined with high damage output. Return Fire ability is great in this ruleset.

Summoner:

I chose the "KELYA FRENDUL summoner". It was a 35-mana game condition and I had to manage my card selection to suit that. I chose the Kelya Frendul summoner so that my opponent's monsters would have an increase in both speed and armor. I added the Alfredo monster which has the bloodlust ability so it increases in all stats when it eliminates any monster. Also, the Baakjira monster was included in my lineup to reduce the speed of my opponent's monsters.

1st Position:

Baakjira, this card has the void ability. It is a 6-mana monster with a speed of 2, no attack, and 11 health with 0 armor protection. It also has a slow ability which reduces the speed of my opponent's monsters.

Round 1:

First, all monsters took their effect from the summoner by gaining extra armor and speed. My lineup was made up of six monsters including; Baakjira, Djinn Oshannus, Riverboat Captain, Magi of Chaos, Alfredo, and Igor Darkspear.

In the first round, the Ajax Lightfoot monster with the highest speed attacked me first followed by a magic attack from Djinn Oshannus after which Pelacor Conjurer also attacked me. Subsequent attacks occurred and at the end of the first round none of our monsters were eliminated.

Round 2:

In this round, the Ajax Lightfoot attacked first with range damage followed by a magic attack from Djinn Oshannus. Pelacor Conjurer then attacked me followed by a magic attack from Magi the Chaos monster.

The Venari Crystal monster restored my opponent's first-position monster and attacked and eliminated my Baakjira monster at the first position. Riverboat captain with the last attack was able to eliminate my opponent's first position monster as well. At the end of the round, both of us had one monster each eliminated.

Round 3:

In this round, the Ajax Lightfoot monster attacked first, after which Djinn Oshannus attacked and eliminated one of my opponent's monsters.

After subsequent attacks, the Alfredo monster was able to eliminate one monster and with the bloodlust effect, increased in all stats. Also, the Riverboat Captain monster eliminated another monster from my opponent's lineup.

Round 4:
In this round, only one monster from my opponent can attack me because the Ajax Lightfoot which is a range attack is now in the first position and can't attack from that position.

After several attacks, Alfredo monster eliminated the Ajax Lightfoot monster and increased in stats as well. Only one monster left for my opponent with just two health. In the next round, the first attack from Djinn Oshannus was able to eliminate that and I emerged victorious.

This was how my battle went and I won it with ease. I think the selection of my cards especially going in with magic cards was a great idea.
