avatar

Greetings to all and sundry on this great platform, I welcome you all to my blog and today I write to participate in this week's battle mage secrets weekly challenge. I am very happy to be part of the Splinterlands family. I hope that you guys would like my entry. Without much ado, I would like to go straight to the purpose of this post. Today, the battle ruleset is "COUNTERSPELL" and I would submit my entry to that here in this post including a video of my battle.

Per the ruleset of the game, When hit with Magic damage, does reduced Magic damage back to the attacker I used my account @abu78 to participate in this battle. I am currently playing in the Silver league of the Wild Format. Before I demonstrate the battle here, let's briefly look into the Ruleset of the game.

Counterspell
When hit with Magic damage, does reduced Magic damage back to the attacker. Deals damage equivalent to the attacker's damage divided by 2, rounded up. The damage is reflected even if the attacker does not hit. Summoner Owster Rotwell gives this ability to every friendly monster at the start of a battle.

Summoner:

I chose the "QUIX THE DEVIOUS summoner". It was a 14-mana game condition and I had to manage my card selection to suit that. I chose the QUIX THE DEVIOUS summoner so that my opponent's monsters would have a decrease in both speed and range attack damage. I added the Djinn Oshannus which has the void ability to neglect the counterspell ability.

1st Position:

Djinn Oshannus, this card has the void ability. It is a 8-mana monster with a speed of 5, 2 magic attack damage, and 10 health with 0 armor protection.

Round 1:

First, all monsters took their effect from the summoner by reducing range attack damage and speed. My lineup was made up of only two monsters including; Djinn Oshannus, and Igor Darkspear.

In the first round, the Djinn Oshannus monster with the highest speed attacked the first-position monster of my opponent and eliminated it. The Naga Assassin monster in my opponent's lineup then attacked me followed by an attack from his Igor Darkspear after which mine also attacked. At the end of the first round, I was able to eliminate one of my opponent's monsters.

Round 2:

In this round, the Djinn Oshannus monster attacked first with 2 magic damage followed by a ranged attack Naga Assassin. Igor Darkspear in my lineup attacked and made one damage after which his Igor Darkspear also attacked.

Angelic Mandarin monster attack on Djinn Oshannus was missed. At the end of the round, no monster was eliminated from both sides.

Round 3:

In this round, the Djinn Oshannus monster attacked first and eliminated the Kelp Initiate monster with the magic attack damage. Subsequent range attacks were followed.

At the end of the round, I was still having my two monsters intact while my opponent was left with three monsters.

Round 4:
In this round, only two monster from my opponent can attack me because the Naga Assassin monster which is a range attack is now in the first position and can't attack from that position.

With just the first attack from Djinn Oshannus, I was able to eliminate the Naga Assassin monster in my opponent's lineup. At the end of the round, my opponent was left with two monsters.

Round 5 to 7:

In this round, only one monster from my opponent's lineup could effect an attack on me, and at the end of the seventh round, I was able to eliminate all the monsters and emerged victorious.

This was how my battle went and I won it with ease. I think the selection of my cards especially going in with magic cards was a great idea.

Thank you all for your time and attention for going through my post. A link to my battle is provided here Battle Link
