The Going Distance Ruleset - Battle Mage Secrets Weekly Challenge!

Greetings to all and sundry on this great platform, I welcome you all to my blog and today I write to participate in this week's battle mage secrets weekly challenge. I am very happy to be part of the Splinterlands family. I hope that you guys would like my entry. Without much ado, I would like to go straight to the purpose of this post. Today, the battle ruleset is "Going the Distance" and I would submit my entry to that here in this post including a video of my battle.

Per the ruleset of the game, Only units with ranged attacks may be used. I used my account @abu78 to participate in this battle. I play in the Gold league of the Wild Format. Before I demonstrate the battle here, let's briefly examine the game's Ruleset.

GOING THE DISTANCE

Ruleset Icon	Description
Going the Distance	Only units with ranged attacks may be used. Consider including units with the Close Range and Return Fire abilities in your lineup.
Heavy Hitters	All Monsters have the Knock Out ability. Use a monster with a Stun ability. There is a 50% chance that your monster with Stun will be able to stun enemy monsters, but if successful, all your monsters will deal double damage to that stunned opponent.
Cripple	Each time an enemy is hit by a Monster with Cripple it loses one max health. Decreasing maximum health reduces the effect of Heal and Tank Heal

Summoner:

I chose the "KELYA FRENDUL summoner". It was a 13-mana game condition and I had to manage my card selection to suit that. I chose the Kelya Frendul summoner so that my monsters would have an increase in melee speed and armor. My team lineup comprised Gargoya Devil and Igor Darkspear.

1st Position:

Gargoya Devil, this card has flying and close-range abilities. It is a 7-mana monster with a speed of 3, 2 range attack damage, and 3 health with 1 armor protection.

What Transpired in the Battle:

First of all monsters took their effect from the summoner by gaining extra armor and speed. My opponent's lineup comprised two monsters including the Kulu Swimhunter and Angelic Mandarin.

In the first round, the Igor Darkspear monster attacked my opponent's first monster followed by another attack from my first positioned monster. My opponent only had one monster that I could attack and that was the last monster because the first monster didn't have the close-range ability and couldn't attack from the first position.

Round 2:

In this round, no monster was eliminated from the previous round but at the end of this round, the Gargoya Devil monster was able to eliminate the Kulu Swimhunter monster.

At this stage, my opponent can't effect any damage to me because it can't attack from the first position.

Round 3 and 4:

In the third round, my two monsters attacked but couldn't eliminate the last standing monster of my opponent but funnaly in the fourth round, I was able to eliminate all the monsters.

This was how my battle went and I won it with ease. I think the selection of my cards especially going in with the Gargoya Devil monster was a good option. In four rounds, I was able to emerge victorious at the end of the battle.
