The Naga Fire Wizard has been added my collection 🔥
Assalamu Alaikum everyone. I hope you are all doing well. Today I’ve managed add another new card to my Splinterlands collection—the Naga Fire Wizard. I had my eye on this card for quite some time, and when the opportunity arose, I finally bought it from the market. In today’s post, I want to share my experience of purchasing this new card and some of my thoughts regarding it.
While playing Splinterlands, I’ve realized one thing clearly: simply owning a few powerful cards doesn't always guarantee good results. Factors like which cards to use under specific rules, the Mana cost involved, and anticipating the opponent's potential team composition are all crucial. That’s why, whenever I buy a new card, I try to consider its future utility beforehand.
My choice this time is the Naga Fire Wizard.
First impressions of the Naga Fire Wizard
As you can see in the image, the Naga Fire Wizard is a Rare Fire Unit. It has a Mana cost 8, so it isn't exactly a low-Mana card. I feel that in battles with right rulesets, a card like this can play significant role.
I also really like the card's appearance. The Naga character, standing amidst the flames, looks quite formidable. The fiery energy visible in both hands complements the Fire Splinter theme beautifully.
The card I purchased is currently Level 1. At this level it has a Magic Attack 2 Speed 1 and Health of 5. Additionally, it possesses the Shield ability. To me, this Shield ability is one of the card's most attractive features.
Why the Shield ability is important
According to the information in the image, the Naga Fire Wizard's Shield ability significantly reduces damage taken from physical attacks. This means that if an opponent launches a melee or ranged physical attack, this ability provides the card with some extra protection.
I consider this a very important factor. In battles we often see that even if a cards attack power isnt exceptionally high its defensive capabilities can help it stay battlefield for a long time. Especially if there is a Tank positioned at the front to absorb the opponents attacks Naga Fire Wizard can launch Magic Attacks from rear. Additionally, thanks to its "Shield" ability, there is a chance to mitigate some physical damage.
Of course, every battle situation is unique. So, I wouldn't use this card in every single battle just because it has the "Shield" ability; instead, I prefer to make decisions based on the battle's ruleset and mana cap.
Why I bought the card
I spent a total of 745.87 DEC to purchase this card. I hesitated a bit at first because I usually try to ensure the efficient use of DEC when buying cards.
I was also impressed by the Naga Fire Wizard's level progression. As shown in the image, the card's attack, speed, and other statistics gradually improve at higher levels. New abilities are also unlocked as the level increases. So, if I can level this card up further in the future, it could become even more effective for my Fire team.
How I plan to use it in battle
Personally, I am not considering using the Naga Fire Wizard as a front-line Tank, given its mana cost of 8 and current health of 5. I believe it makes more sense to position this type of card in the back row to launch attacks.
I see this same dynamic with the Naga Fire Wizard.
I noticed an important notice when purchasing the card. It states that the card is playable in 'Wild' & 'Survival' modes, but a 'Wild Pass' is required for 'Wild Ranked' play.
What I Like Best About the Card
What appeals to me most about the Naga Fire Wizard is the combination of its Magic Attack and Shield ability.
On one hand, it can attack opponents with Magic Attack, while on the other, its Shield ability offers some protection against physical attacks. Having both features makes the card quite attractive to me.
To wrap up, I am very happy with my decision to buy the Naga Fire Wizard. I purchased it for 745.87 DEC, and my goal now is to gradually level it up.
There is a unique joy collecting new cards in Splinterlands.Even more importantly, it gives me chance test out various battle strategies with the new card.
I look forward to playing several battles with the Naga Fire Wizard. I want to figure out which Tank it pairs best with, which rulesets make it most effective, and how much it improves after leveling up—all through my own battles.
Although today's purchase reduced my DEC balance a bit, I gained a new Rare Fire card for my collection in return. That is what makes me happiest.
I hope level up the Naga Fire Wizard further in the future and make good use battles.
