Opening my 14 CL packs!!! Got 2 Legendaries in 1 pack :D
Hello guys, hope you all had a good day and got some great pulls from the CL packs! General Sale started today, I just got home a few hours ago and went straight to opening packs! (This post came a little later though, since I had to craft this post and upload the video :P)
Origin of my CL packs
I got my packs through XCHAOS in the market, accessible via hive-engine/tribaldex etc. this is a bulk purchase where each XCHAOS held gives you 1 CHAOS pack and a portion of any subsequent airdrop value. Seemed like a good deal so I got 14 XCHAOS for around $5 each. If the value of the airdrops is more than $1 per pack then I will be profiting, but if not then it will be a loss.
[Disclaimer: The packs have already been sent, so if you buy XCHAOS now you will no longer get a pack, just the airdrop rewards.]
However, after opening my packs, I can safely say I am pretty happy even with the packs alone 😄. Most of you guys probably clicked in because of the clickbait-y Title and Thumbnail, so without further ado lets watch my pack opening:
Before you open your packs:
I used Alchemy Potions and Legendary Potions for all my opened packs, as I had accumulated some from daily quests, and they greatly boost your chances of getting Gold Foil/ Legendary cards.
Even then, I barely had enough for my 14 packs, after opening them I had only 1 Legendary Potion left. If you do not have enough potions, you can purchase them for $0.04/$0.05 worth of credits

Out of the 14 packs, there was one amazing pack (at 2:25) where I got not one, but TWO legendary cards! I cant believe my luck 😍 This probably isn't the luckiest pull out of all the millions of packs opened, but I'm still really happy about it! Definitely has deserves to be remembered as one of the most amazing pulls I made :D
My P/L and next course of action
Overall, the value of the cards I got was $59.81. Of this, a large percentage came from the Legendary Dragon Summoner I pulled, Quix the Devious, which is trading for $20+, and the Chaos Legion summoners I pulled, which are worth around $3.
Assuming I sold all the cards and that CL packs cost $4, I would have made a small profit from this. However, I'm planning to hold the cards for now, they provide more choices for my battles, and the market is probably over saturated with CL cards. Most people are opening their packs now, and a number of them are selling their pulls in order to buy more packs, to increase their chances of getting a card airdrop.
What to do with XCHAOS now?
I am still holding my 14 XCHAOS, they are trading for around 0.5 - 0.7 HIVE now. For those that don't know, XCHAOS will sell any airdrop cards they get, and hold the DEC and SPS they gain from the daily SPS airdrop. They will then send daily DEC payouts to everyone holding XCHAOS. This will continue until the SPS airdrop and the CL card airdrop ends.
So far, I am getting about 5-6 DEC per day from my 14 XCHAOS.
I used to only own 1 XCHAOS, and only increased my holdings about a week ago, thus you can also see that my 1 XCHAOS used to yield me about 0.5 DEC per day.
I am getting around 0.4 DEC per XCHAOS daily. The 'Ask' price of DEC is 0.003393 HIVE, while the 'Ask' price of XCHAOS is 0.7995 HIVE. That means at current payout amount, I need around 589 days to earn enough DEC to get enough for the XCHAOS token to pay for itself. The SPS airdrop will definitely not last that long, and I doubt the CL sale will last for more than 1 year as well.
However, there are still 11 more card airdrops, and they will likely boost the daily DEC payout substantially when they do get dropped. I will definitely be monitoring the DEC payout change when the next card airdrop arrives, and decide based on that whether to hold my XCHAOS or sell it.
