A couple of months ago, people were complaining that Splinterlands cards were too expensive and that it wasn't possible to be competitive. Now prices of cards came down and people complain because they fear for the value of their investment...
What I would say is that in the coming weeks there will be a great opportunity to build your Splinterlands deck in a very cheap way!

Great advice. Currently I am only lacking Tarsa to get my summoners to level 2. Quix at level 1 starts as a lvl 2 summoner 3221 and has the CP of 500 which matches the gold foil summoners. Do you think the price is sorting by best/most used cards?

I see that some summoners are loosing value faster than others. This makes me think that they were overvalued and then while playing people saw that these summoners are not so strong. In a way the value can be the mirror of the quality of a card but it doesn't have to be always true.
You are so right! I remembered last time when they removed/reduced the rewards for Bronze leagues, some people were saying it is so expensive to build CP for Silver because the cards were costly. Now I noticed many good cards are below 5 USD.
Exactly, there are some real nice deals to find and it will probably even get cheaper.
I have a slight problem. :) I have and will continue to have for a while a significant number of unopened packs, unless I buy more potions. And I intend to open them. The problem is you never know what you'll get by opening packs, and so I won't know how many cards I need to level up the CL collection. What I decided was to buy the cards I like but not to the max level, unless that is really helpful in combat. The rest (or part of them) might come from opening the packs.
I have a similar problem and it's called: not enough potions lol. That's why I stopped buying packs altogether and buy directly the cards that I need from the market.
I had in the past bought cards without knowing how to use them or if I would ever use them at all. One case was a Divine Healer level 3 that I couldn't use at her fullest because I had no summoners. I had some gold foil cards at level 3 that I got in rewards that were always at level 1 when I battled with them. After I upgraded my summoners, I took advantage of those cards immediately! So amazing!
This also gave the opportunity to buy some cards I needed in higher levels. And now they are super cheap! Two days ago, I bought a Gargoya Scrapper level 3 for $0.30. Maybe it's not a super useful card. But at level 3 it has void that could be useful in "little league" battles and I can take advantage of it with my General Sloan, right now. So, I thought it was cheap and bought it! The same for Djinn Chwala. One of the most useful cards I ever had, I leveled her up at level 2 for less than $5.

You can make a huge difference in lower level with an upgraded summoner that allows you to play cards up to level 3 for common cards. As you said if you have gold foil cards, they have better stats with a upgraded summoner. I believe it's a great strategy to start to upgrade your summoners and little by little you can upgrade the other cards as well. Then you can go to do the same with the next splinter and soon you will see your ranking improve :-)

Regardless of how awesome something is people will always complain. I think that is a default preprogrammed behavior geared toward forcing us to improve our environments lol :-D
I think it has to do with how we see the world. For some people it seems whathever happens there is something to complain about :-)

I agree that it's a good time to build but I wonder if summoners are the way to go. I tend to just buy normal cards rather than summoners because it is less expensive.

I kind of like to buy summoners because they are the rarest cards out there if you think in time of necessity. Every single player will need most of them :-)
