The new rewards system explained

With the new Splinterlands season came also the new reward system. It took me quite some time to understand how things were working and I believe that the changes introduced are pretty neat.

In the video, I share what I have learned so far :-)

P.S: in the video I mix up things a little bit. When you reach diamond I you drop to gold I and not to diamond 3. But what I want to point out is still true.

Great job explaining it. Yes it seems much harder to get those first chest for your focus areas.

I believe as you progress in your league it will get easier to get your standard number of chest per day.

Since I have a habit of burning my ECR down so it stays below 100% this will play into my normal game.

23 battles per day average. I don't see how they get the 30 per day they talk about.

I think this new system will increase the value of Cards in the game.

I think that everybody who wants to earn money with the game, will need to buy cards and this will be profitable for the market.

What I'm hearing is I should just sell my collection... It's utterly pointless to play without pouring tons of money into that stupid game.

If you own a collection, then it might be worth to play a lot of games with it. The more you play and win, the more rewards you will get.

This new rewards has me all confused. You get so used to doing things one way for so long that it can be hard to change and adapt. I think I am starting to figure it out. I just need to change the way I play a bit. I came here via Listnerds.

I got my first batch of rewards the other day and they were pretty lackluster. I am going to give it a chance, but I am also kind of longing for the old system to come back!

I bought all these gold foil modern cards just to rent some better older cards. Oh well, at least I am ready for the release of modern. I also play only with the team that is my focus. So I might as well start renting out those other cards.

I think that the rental market will see a lot of changes. it will be interesting to find out which cards rent best with the new system.

I get a better rate for some upgraded cards than normally in the season. Level 1s seem to do worse than before.

Hi Achim! Thanks for sharing your experience with the changes for players and the Splinterlands post explaining them. Glad they seem to be working for you. I am interested in what changes there are for those of us who are just in it for investing's sake.

That's a good question and I believe that rentals will be used in a different way. Since it doesn't really make sense to accumulate collection points, I believe that the very powerful cards will be the ones that rent out best.

The new reward system, drastically changes how to get return from the game. I believe in the long term it will be pretty good for the ecosystem.

Thanks for sharing! At my level, I am more comfortable staying in Silver now, where I can get a good decent win rate.

In my opinion it will actually make a lot of sense to stay in lower leagues. If you need to collect gold chest but you don't have the level to play there, the rewards won't be very nice I believe.

I'm in my element right now because I have an Earth Focus for the next 24 hours and have already won more chests than ever before. I struggled with some of the other elements, but today's experience is showing me some of the benefit of the changes...

The advantage with the new system is that you can play quite a lot of games and earn more chests if you are willing to invest the time.

the daily focus is tricky, but about the seasonal rewards I'm very intrigued. it's definitely going to be fun.

As someone who came on board to Splinterlands while the new rewards system was being released, it certainly added some confusion from what I though I was getting into.
I appreciate the details. Your video is helping me understand this transition a bit better.
My initial impression is that this is designed to level the playing field so that someone can't simply buy their way to the top.
Would it be safe to presume that the more you play, the more potential rewards can be available?
