Reward cards that could take value

▶️ Watch on 3Speak

Some of the present reward cards are soon going out of print. When looking at these cards, I believe there are some cards that might take value over time. In the video, I try to explain why I believe that some of these cards have more potential than others.

Reference: in the video I use the tools provided by Splintercards

I agree with your strategy on the reward cards. Burn rate is an interesting piece of data. For many where the price is below .01 burning them is the only way to extract value from them currently.

There is a huge burn rate difference among cards and I believe it gives a pretty good picture which cards are useful in the game. It kind of fits which cards I'm using myself. In the long run, I believe the value of these cards might increase from todays levels.

It's definitely getting close to the time they will start moving up. I just wonder what's going to happen when everyone finds out they need 6 maxed out cards per plot. Could be a lot of scrambling for cards. I've been buying these here and there with DEC winnings. Hopefully it will pay off down the road.

If you really need maxed out cards for each plot, then I believe that the demand will skyrocket, especially for the cards that are cheaper at the moment. I have a lot of old reward cards that were very cheap when they were in print and now they are nice to have... the best example is the furious chicken :-)

Yeah, I paid $30 for ONE chicken last year. It lost a little of its utility with the introduction of the Fiend cards, but I still get lots of use out of it in Wild mode. Especially when used in conjunction with Dr Blight.

I agree with the reward cards but I am worried about whether or not Splinterlands would make the reward cards soul-bound. If it does, then I guess we might have to rely on the rental market.

If they introduce soul bound reward cards, the existing ones that can still be transfered will become even more valuable.

Thanks for sharing this great info!! I've got a couple hundred Venaris Crystalsmith and will probably buy more now! lol

Venaris Crystalsmith is a very powerful card. I maxed it out and now I kind of don't get any such reward cards anymore unfortunately :-). I might buy some...

Djinn Oshannus has also been a good card to buy and hold.

In my opinion it's pretty undervalued compared with other legendary cards. I think it's also true for Venator Kinjo. Another pretty powerful legendary reward card. The difference is that Venator Kinjo is far from being out of print.

Let's try and keep this to ourselves. I've been buying up Oshannus cards. !LOL

Nice one ;-). I have it maxed out once, level 3 twice and about 3 more 1 level cards ;-)

Oh you are well prepared 😉 I need to check mine, but mostly lvl1s for renting. Think I needed to upgrade for that forcefield ability.

Forcefield is great in high mana caps :-)

I'm still thinking about what the resulting Damage would be when a Monster with the Forcefield Ability (where any Attack that is 5 or higher just produces 1 Damage) and Taunt Ability is used on a Battle with the Ferocity Rule (where all Monsters on the Battle get the Fury Ability which makes them deal double damage to targets with the Taunt Ability). 🤯😅

It's hard to find a #Splinterlands Battle where there is a Monster with the Forcefield and Taunt Abilities and an opposing Monster with the Fury Ability and where the Monster with Fury has at least 3 Damage and does hit the Monster with both Forcefield and Fury. 🤯

It's because the Splinterlands Battles are no longer published on the Hive blockchain (but only available on the Splinterlands API), where we need to use the native Splinterlands frontend (which is slow) to view each Battle of each player hoping to find a Battle with all those conditions met, unless we also use a bot to find such Battles. 😅

I am usually using Splintertools to look through historical battles, but I will look out for that. !LOLZ !PIZZA

Using #Splintertools' Custom Battle feature, you no longer need to find a specific #Splinterlands Battle that has all the conditions you want. 🤓

I created a Custom Battle on Splintertools where a Monster with Fury and 3 Damage hits another Monster with Forcefield and Taunt, and found out that the Forcefield damage reduction applies before the double damage due to Fury. 😏

Anyway, I noticed that you can purchase a Splintertools Pass with only 1 HIVE per month (or 12 HIVE per month for a Guild Pass), which will allow you to see how your opponent plays and is permitted in the game. 😅

Yes, it is a good tool and I have considered it. I didn't use the custom battles yet though..

How is your progress in Splinterlands? You didn't post anything for a while?

Maybe you want to create a #Splintertools Custom Battle and share the ones that are interesting on the #Splintertalk community here on Hive. 😏

Anyway, I prefer not to publish posts since I can easily make interesting comments roughly 30 times faster than a long post. 😅

You should claim one or two Account Creation Tokens using some of your Resource Credits which are currently already at 100%. 😅 !PIZZA !LOL

I noticed that it took your Hive account only 30% of its Resource Credits to claim an Account Creation token. 🤔 That means you can claim two more ACTs with your RCs, then wait 2 to 4 days to claim another set of ACTs. 🤓 !LUV

We are all waiting for this moment (for the print to run out)! At least I am hehe!

It's true. Once the print is runing out, the supply of the card can only become smaller and the price accordingly higher.

In the future, you won't be able to keep reward cards at level 1 and sell them afterward.

They'll become soul-bond, either until you max the card or until they go out of print and you max the card. Or something similar, not decided yet. Anyway, the idea is they'll push for every account to max their reward cards before they become tradable, at least.

I've heard about that but don't really get what it would bring to the game other than make a lot of people quit... If the value of reward card is very low during print phase, it's not that bad. The value of this cards can only go up over time. Hope we will be able to vote on that.

We won't be able to vote on that. It's not related to SPS or vouchers or anything else that will run on the SPS validator nodes. It's entirely up to the Splinterlands team.

Their reasoning is that bots farm reward cards and sell them immediately, without being interested to level up the reward cards at all. Plus, they argued that nobody wants to play for reward cards when they can easily max them out very cheaply.

The main counter-argument for soul-bound reward cards, in my opinion, is that they automatically kill the rental market for them.

In a way they would be like gladius cards but for normal game play. I'm not sure what to think about it :-).

Yeah, that's where they got the idea. Not sure if it will work in the wider economy either.
