What is better? Buying CL packs on Splinterlands or on Hive-Engine?

When you want to buy Chaos Legion packs, you have the option to buy them in the game or on a secondary platform like Hive-Engine or Atomichub. In this video I compare the advantages from buying on Splinterlands with the advantages from buying over Hive-Engine in financial terms.

What do you think? Where to do you buy Chaos Legion packs?

I buy into the game to increase the chances of future airdrops.

I believe that the lottery is pretty appealing and when the chances are there to get gold foils, it's worth the risk to pay a bit too much :-)

前一次,我在HIVE ENGINE購買了50多包的CHAOS,這次我在Splinterlands上購買100包,體會到AIRDROPS是很美妙的一件事。

I think it's human nature to like this kind of lottery that comes with the 4 USD packs! Hehe!

I agree it's kind of dull just to buy the packs when you can go for the potential airdrops lottery :-)

That's a good question! In general, I think it is better to just get packs off of hive-engine, as the airdrops aren't likely to be worth enough.. But then, we all love to check the airdrop eligibility and find more and more over there haha

Exactly. From a pure economical point of view, I believe it makes more sense to buy cheaper packs from HE but then you will never know what kind of airdropped cards you might have missed :-)

I agree with your assessment. Moving forward I'm only buying packs with credits that I get through my referrals so I'll stick with the official Splinterlands store. If it wasn't for that I'd be buying from Hive-Engine as well ;-)

It's a good idea to use these credits for packs in the game. I use the credits to buy some individual cards on the market.

Yes buying just a few to get a lottery ticket for a chance at the airdrop cards is my choice.
Opening after they are released gives a chance of getting them in your pack.

The chance to get one of these cards is definitely worth it. I think the belief that a GFL might be waiting for you is kind of decisive :-)

You are right about buying a small number of packs is definitely better to do over Hive-Engine... But, if you buy 100+ packs, then you have the added incentive of bonus packs (VOUCHER price going down) and calculation of airdrop cards combined with the value of bonus packs are getting very close to H-E buy...

Also, what other commenters mentioned, the lottery feeling is appealing... lol...

I believe there is not one right answer. I believe that because of the lottery aspect there will be some people that make a good deal with buying packs from SL and others who are less lucky. By buying the packs from HE, the luck factor is taken out of the equation. You probably get the average price and no adrenaline lol

I think the Splinterlands store is the best choice due to the airdrops. I just collected 4 legendary cards today so that is already some extra benefits of doing so.

I think that if you buy a consequent amount of packs, it makes sense to buy from Splinterlands since you can also get price reduction from vouchers.

I agree that would also make sense but I don't think it works like that right now. So people must pay a large amount in bulk to get in on these sales.

If you get the 350 packs or higher required to get at least one of those legendary airdrops yeah it's definitely worth it to buy from splinterlands. Under 350, it may be better to buy on hive engine.

You are quite right. The closer you get to 350, the more chances you have to get a secured airdrop and the more it makes sense to buy from SL.

About the minimum packs to get a guaranteed airdrop, for the legendary card it raises by 25 for every new legendary card that is dropped (quoting from memory from what Matt said). That's why the limit was 300 packs for the first airdropped card during the presale (after Dr Blight) and it raised to 350 for the following two (actually there were 3, but the limit remained 350).

So with 8 more airdrops, you will need around 550 to get a guaranteed card even with the last airdrop.

I don't think so. Only legendary cards raise the minimum. I'm sure there will be non-legendary cards dropped too. But since we expect 6 legendary summoners, there isn't much room for other rarities.
