Two Fiends and a Furious Chicken

Weekly Challenge.png

Hallo, fellow splinterlands players and interested hivers!

This time I will be sharing my battle using Scorch Fiend, a monster with 0-mana.

🔥LORE🔥

It is said to gaze upon a Fiend is to stare into the face of utter Hopelessness and know that the End has come.

Stories of the Scorch Fiend tell of the terrible devastation left in its wake. It burns anything that draws its ire, making it a formidable foe on the battlefield. When fighting alongside its mortal allies, it uses its elemental fire magic to hasten their attacks.

🔥BATTLE CONDITIONS🔥

image.png
Close Range: "Ranged attacks may be used in the first position in battles"
Melee Mayhem: "Melee attack monsters can attack from any position"
Mana Cap: 13
Active Elements: Fire, Water, Earth Dragon

This is the perfect opportunity for me to use my rented lineup together with my pulled legendary card, Scorch Fiend. Allowing this monster to use its attack, not just some decoy in the battle.
During this time, my rented lineups are fire, earth, and death plus a dragon summoner. With the thought of close range, I could get some luck using Cornealus.

Like this one.

But in this battle. I decided to bring an all-melee monsters.

🔥LINEUP🔥

Malric InfernoReason/sSummoner
With the mana cap, Fire element is really my go-to battle lineup and this summoner provides +1 melee attack for allied melee monsters
3-mana
CerberusReason/sFirst Position
Its healing and retaliate abilities will act to pick on the enemy's tank and its speed is great to land attack first, At level 6, a 3 melee attack, 5 speed, and 8 health
4-mana
Scorch FiendReason/sSecond Position
Putting this one in the second position to allow the two next monsters to attack using their abilities. It's actually interchangeable with the last position in the lineup. At level 1, it has 1 melee attack, 1 speed, and 1 health
0-mana
Kobold MinerReason/sThird Position
Probably will be used to attack the back line of the opponent. A level 7 with 2 melee attack, 4 speed, 5 health
2-mana
Serpentine SpyReason/sFourth Position
Currently a starter card, but renting a higher level for better speed to take a chance in low health monsters. Level 6 with 3 melee attack, 5 speed, and 3 health
3-mana
Radiated ScorcherReason/sLast Position
At a decoy mission and an extra attack. At level 1 with 1 melee attack, 2 speed, and 2 health
1-mana

🔥THE BATTLE🔥

With the battle conditions, it's probably expected of using melees at most. At a first glance, opponent using Mylor Crowling against my monsters with melee attack, I bet I won't have a chance.

Observing it again before rumbling, although using a Mylor Summoner, it was only level 2. Mine was level 6. But we go back to the fact that their summoner induces a negative 2 in health to its enemy monsters without shield. I have five monsters in the lineup while they have four, one with no attack. I also have the advantage of the number of melee attacks. We both have a monster with healing ability. But with RNG, a speed of 3 misses an attack against a 5-speed. 😲 I guess if the rule would be Melee Mayhem and Up Close and Personal which only allows monsters with melee attack, they probably wouldn't mind using Mycelic Infantry, a monster with shield ability, 3 melee attacks, 1 speed, 3 armors, and 7 health. But I am not fully confident of it because of the speed.

On to the battlefield

By round 1, my summoner gives allied melee monsters with +1 melee attack then the opponent summoner have all their monsters a thorns ability to punish back when attacked by melees.
My Cerberus and Serpentine Spy took the lead as they removed Furious Chicken and Fungus Fiend, respectively. Each received a 2 damage from the thorns of Mylor Crowling. Then Kobold Miner goes against Goblin Thief leaving it with only 1 health and receives thorns. Flesh Golem missed an attack on Cerberus. After it, Goblin Thief was able to remove Radiated Scorcher. Scorch Fiend had a successful attack on Flesh Golem with 2 damage but got removed after receiving thorns.

image.png

3 on 2 at Round 2, Cerberus attacked Flesh Golem by 4 damage again and receive 2 thorns damage. Serpentine Spy finally removed Goblin Thief then follows after receiving thorns. Flesh Golem is now the only left monster from the enemy as Kobold Miner attacked it with 3-melee damage leaving only 1 health. But Fresh Golem was able to heal back 3 health and takes the chance to remove 2 health from Cerberus.

Final round finished in a split seconds as Cerberus launch its 4-melee damage attack to Flesh Golem with 4 health left.

I wasn't able to take a screenshot immediately after it but we matched in Gold League so I gained +36 rating in 2k+ rating.

🔥🍃🐔 Fiends and a Furious Chicken 🔥🍃🐔

I want to put here their infos by level. And their current prices and more and go back here after 3 months.
It seems that stats of Scorch is better, if it's a melee mayhem, it gets to attack first before the Fungus just what happened in my battle.
Prices in their regular foil don't vary that much, $4.01-$4.07. But in gold foil, we can see that sellers give a little 10$ more value in Scorch. Currently at $99.81 and $89.88 for Fungus

It seems level 5 of Furious Chicken is the best since it actually have a certain ability.

The price of $14.92, we can get 3 fiends with its 1 bcx now. And there's sale for higher level. And I checked it in the market and saw the level 5! While its gold foil, we can buy almost 2 gold foil fiends in two different elements, of course.

If you have the budget, you might want to get this now. Or not.
