ARE VOUCHERS FOR PHASE 2 WORTH IT?

Voucher prices have fallen off a cliff compared to the pre-sale and are now trading frequently under $3. While the price swing wasn't unexpected, the timing is what surprises me.

Back in November I talked about how if there was no further announcement of voucher utility after the Chaos Legion general sale began, we would see a ceiling of $4 as why would anyone want to pay more for a bonus pack when they could just by a regular pack for cheaper. So far we haven't gotten any kind of announcement, but we do know the team is working hard to drive further utility to vouchers and by extension, SPS.

So this leaves us in a position here where even after the 2 airdrop cards have been revealed, after a slight bump following Friday's Town Hall, vouchers have once again settled back under $3.

Most of the discussion in the Discord Mav channel has been centered around not bothering with this phase of the sale and waiting for the general sale to begin to loading up. It's hard to disagree with that analysis given the fact that if you are not receiving any vouchers, you would be able to get almost double the packs with the same amount of money.

And if you are already sitting on a decent amount of capital, you can buy into the legendary airdrop cards and max them (11 BCX needed) by grabbing them off the market. It's a solid strategy and as I said, hard to disagree with.

Yet somehow I still feel like vouchers are incredibly undervalued at the moment. Now I don't want to horde vouchers for some unannounced purpose so I am strictly talking about being able to buy packs with them now before the general sale begins in mid-January.

Here is my reasoning, open to critique:

Because of the way the bulk sale and opening 24 hour general sale will work, airdrops 4-15 will have a significantly higher amount printed due to everyone jumping in at the same time. This makes Baakjira and Uriel, along with Dr. Blight, significantly more scarce and would therefore drive their value higher.

For example, my focus right now has been to buy as many pre-sale and phase 2 packs in order to get enough to max out the cards. Meaning that I do not have ANY that I plan on selling, as eventually I want those to use them in my own deck.

I'm sure others will have some to sell, but judging by the floor price for Dr. Blight I believe it will be difficult to grab these 2 extra airdrops off the market at undervalued prices since the market will never be "flooded" with them. A first day dip will happen, but that is more due to price discovery rather than a sell-off.

So, for the time being, I'm still focused on staking as much SPS as possible and grabbing vouchers whenever I can in order to hit my targets. We'll see if the cards end up being worth it!

I am grabbing a couple of additional airdrop points just to increase my shot at possibly getting an Uriel or a Baakjira. holds thumbs
