Every week I give my 5 biggest takeaways from the most recent Town Hall.
- Riftwatchers to require vouchers (80-100%)
This shouldn't come as a surprise for everyone who followed the Chaos Legion release from the pre-sale. If CL does sell out completely once the general sale begins then I think that will make even more sense for vouchers.
- Land - items and spells will be "leveled up"
Land will allow land owners to exclusively mint item and spell NFTs. The main question everyone was asking is if these would be single use and with the info given at the most recent town hall, it sounds like these will be similar to cards in terms of the ability to be combined to level up. The potential saturation of the market is still an area of concern for me though.
- Blockchain Bridges
2021 saw Splinterlands connect to Wax, BSC, and ETH blockchains for both tokens and assets. If that continues to grow with how popular other blockchains are (Solana/AVAX/Luna) this game will exposed to an even wider audience.
- Rewards Cards and Game Economy Updates
The rewards updates for bronze in the fall of 2021 were a major talking point at the time. Looking back, it caused the asset price bubble as CL had not been released yet. I still believe it was necessary though and agree with the team's vision for protecting the long term health of the game.
- Bulk Sale did NOT sell out
I don't believe all 6M packs were sold out for the bulk sale, which is foreshadowing the general sale lasting longer than most had anticipated. The broader crypto market is in a consolidation period right now so that isn't helping anything in terms of liquidity in the market, but ultimately I can see positives in both a fast or drawn out general sale.
