I wanted to share a great tool that I've been using - Splintercards!
I've spoken about it many times before but they just added a new feature where you are now able to see how much the total cost will be to level up any modern format expansion to any league. Focusing on Chaos Legion, here are the rough numbers:
Silver - $1800
Gold - $4500
Diamond - $8000
These values are dynamic though and will follow the market swings. It's definitely a good gauge though to see how card prices are faring by expansion.

I agree with you that playing splinterlands is always spent your bucks from your own pocket, and at lower or bronze level, or income from rental market is very low, !LUV your analysis of different league.
