Why Do We Burn Packs At All?
In this video, I respond to a question from someone newer to the game asking why we burn packs at all. I try to go through the progression of how pack burning became a thing, starting with Chaos Legion and then it's evolution through Rebellion and now Conclave Arcana.
The short answer - it allows the player base to grow organically without diluting the ecosystem with too many cards. Obviously, a lot of damage was done for Chaos Legion by the time it was implemented but can you imagine if we didn't burn over 2 million packs and had those still circulating around?
Overall, I'm happy to see the progression of this process over the past few sets and it's certainly keeping scarcity in the mix which bodes well for card value in the future.
