5 Random Battles

Since I've returned to the Frontier Ranked and farming cards, I feel like it would look bad if it's just one battle at a time. It would be very repetitive since the units are very limited unlike the choices in Modern Ranked. So, I would just have to show more battles. It would look repetitive, yes, but it still gives a much better overall look than focusing on one battle at a time.

Battle 1

Despite having Close Range modifier in this battle, I did not use it. One problem I have in Modern Ranked is I don't feel like there's a good range unit at all. I've seen one that is that tree-looking unit in Earth element but except that one, I don't think there's a good one in Frontier Ranked.

Even if I have that unit though, I would still choose Water element still because of Saltwater Mage. I really think this one is strongest in Frontier Ranked. The Sneak with magic damage is just so good. That's why I even use Saltwater Mage when I played Modern Ranked during the Amorendel event.

I would have to say as well that it is also weird to see units with Void losing to a magic damage team. I feel like they should've lessen the armor on Nim Guard Captain and increased his health since the Void ability is not enough to stop magic in Frontier Ranked when there's no units that has Tank Heal to combine with it.

Battle 2

This battle has two modifiers, Fire & Regret and Aimless. Fire & Regret modifier gives Return Fire to all units so any range units gets damaged back when they attack. Aimless on the other hand gives all units the Scattershot ability to make all non-melee attacks random. I learned from experiences that Scattershot ignores all abilities like Snipe and Sneak. This makes Saltwater Mage's attacks random. Scattershot also ignores all Taunt so the New Beluroc Aegis Taunt is not useful in this battle.

I had a little mistake in this battle which is using Spitting Camel. I was looking for a high health unit with 6 mana to complete my lineup and completely forgot about Return Fire from Fire & Regret modifier. I was more focused on the Aimless modifier. I was just happy that even though the pick was wrong, the idea of having a second tanky unit still worked.

Looking back, I feel like this lineup could've been better. I can put Spitting Camel in the front to prevent him from attacking then Great Bear Druid on the second position since I really only want his magic damage. This gives me two solid tanks and since Spitting Camel cannot attack, he cannot get return damage from Return Fire ability.

Battle 3

I immediately and unconsciously did what I just said in the last battle. Spitting Camel, in this battle, might not be able to attack but the 5 health is better than having Spellmonger with 1 Health and 1 armor as my other option. If I have Asel Alagosdil like my enemy, I wouldn't mind using her as my regular tank. Asel Alagosdil may have lower health but that Divine Shield is very attractive to have since it's one attack that's ignored.

I was recently trying out if I really need other units other than Mystic Scaleweaver and Saltwater Mage for my damage. The data isn't much since I've only started it but it's been a good result so far. For example, if I have more mana, I am thinking of adding New Beluroc Aegis for this one because of the Taunt and probably Spitting Camel behind him as a supporting tank.

Battle 4

The fourth battle is very tricky. Broken Arrows modifier means no range attack units which Earth Element excels. There's also Thick Skinned modifier making all units gain Shield. Shield halves all melee and range damage by half and if they have 1 attack, this attack will become 0. It was tricky because a lot of low leveled Foundation unit have 1 melee attack. There's no Water Element so not a lot of useful magic damage unit that can be used.

I checked all of the available units in the Fire, Earth and Life element and saw that the one with the most magic damage units among the three is the Earth Element. The enemy could've easily won or draw this battle if they only looked a lot closer on the available units. They didn't so I took the win on the fourth battle.

Battle 5

The last battle is another example of the third battle. Like I mentioned, I was trying a lot of if Mystic Scaleweaver and Saltwater Mage is enough for the damage. So far, they do.

The last battle is has modifiers, "No Pain, No Gain" and Earthquake. I don't really understand the No Pain, No Gain modifier in Frontier Ranked because there's no units here that can damage my own units. Maybe I haven't checked all units closely but I don't remember. Earthquake damage will not trigger it because this damage is not from my units, not Burning or Poison. So, I just ignore the No Pain, No Gain modifier and focus on the Earthquake modifier.

The combination of Thalgrimore and Sorrow Harvester is scary in modifiers that damage health because they can lessen your unit's health to a deadly level. The problem here is that he didn't expect a Sneak unit so one attack from Saltwater Mage and it completely undid their strategy. From there, I just overwhelmed their attackers until I won.
