May the better Heal/th wins
This was supposed to be my entry for the "Make a Contest" contest. Something that is a pacifist run where you let the environment kill your enemies as your units stand until the end. Instead of focusing on racing who kills first, I focused with who can be killed last. This is due to the low mana while having a modifier that can kill you. Some battles are not about damage but about surviving longer. With Global Warming Modifier dealing burning damage every round units slowly lose health over time. This makes sustain and healing more important than damage. High health units become stronger because they can survive longer. Defensive abilities like Shield and Heal also become more valuable with this strategy. This can be easily countered though, but at the same time, a really funny way to win.

In this battle, even if the enemy has a lot of high damaging units, they used melee units which was bad. With Ulundin Overseer's high armor, they weren't even able to touch his health as they try to break the armor. Mana Warden's Shield Ward giving Ulundin Overseer Shield was also very helpful as this doesn't go away even if Mana Warden dies. Due to the enemy's not so high health on their units, they had a limited time to kill my very buffed Ulundin Overseer with Shield and Heal. With the Global Warming modifier killing their units by round 4, it became a one on one with Ulundin Overseer versus Dread Tafarian who has 1 melee damage but has Heal. This took the game to fatigue rounds where units get increasing true damage each round. Unfortunately for them, since Ulundin Overseer has higher health, he has more heal. That also means if both units gets same damage each time, Dread Tafarian will go down first from healing less and having lower health.

Modifier 1: Global Warming: All units have the Burning status effect applied at the start of combat (At the beginning of round 2, burning has a 33% chance to spread to adjacent units. All burning units lose 2 health. Burning can be cleansed).
My Lineup:
Idea is to put Heal and Shield on Ulundin Overseer and let the enemy take damage from burning from Global Warming Modifier. I focused on defenses instead of using high damage units. Since the modifier already deals damage every round, I only needed to survive longer. By stacking Heal and Shield to Ulundin Overseer, he becomes very hard to kill especially with the luck of the enemy team using mostly melee damage. The rest of the units only support him so he can outlast everyone. This lineup is simple but very effective for this kind of battle.
Avina of the Wolf: I used her to give Heal to Ulundin Overseer who has high health. High health means more heal every round which improves survivability. This is very important in Global Warming Modifier because everyone takes damage over time. Giving Heal to a tanky unit creates strong sustain. Avina of the Wolf helps turn Ulundin Overseer into a long lasting wall. This supports my strategy of surviving first and damage second.
Ulundin Overseer: His purpose is to be a wall for the whole battle. He has high health and armor which makes him hard to kill. I let the burning from Global Warming Modifier slowly kill enemy units while he survives. With Shield and Heal he becomes even harder to defeat. He also has Flank for Mana Warden to attack but that was not really the focus. The main goal is just to stay alive as long as possible.
Mana Warden: Mana Warden has Shield Ward which gives Ulundin Overseer the Shield ability. This reduces melee and ranged damage by half which is very strong. Since the enemy mostly used melee units this helped a lot. Even if Mana Warden dies the Shield stays which is very valuable. This makes Ulundin Overseer tank damage much better. Mana Warden is important for the defensive setup.
Meriput Magician: Meriput Magician has Tank Heal to help Ulundin Overseer survive the early rounds. This stacks with the Heal from Avina of the Wolf. More healing means Ulundin Overseer can outlast the burning damage. This is very useful before fatigue rounds start. Keeping the tank alive early makes the late game easier. Meriput Magician supports the sustain strategy well.
Global Warming Modifier can be played in a lot of ways. This is one of those. By stacking Shield and Heal on Ulundin Overseer, I was able to outlast the enemy. The battle ended in fatigue but my higher health gave me the win.
