This is a fan art with which I participate in the splinterlands art contest (week # 171).

It is the first time that I participate in this contest and I have chosen this character who inspired me. It is part of the "Water Unit". He's a tough looking pirate, armed with two pistols and thirsty for revenge on government ships full of treasures heaped on the slave trade. I enjoyed giving a personal interpretation of a character ready to sail the seas stormy and not easy to pull back!
I took advantage of this illustration to practice digital. In this sense, I am somewhat a newbie. I honestly prefer it when I can work on traditional, as we spend a lot of time in front of a screen in general. But I must say that using a pressure sensitive tablet (Samsun S3) and a really good app (Sketchbook) I enjoyed it even if I'm a beginner (previously I worked with graphics tablet and PhotoShop). I leave you to the final result and the creation process.

Questa è una fan art con la quale partecipo al contest artistico di splinterlands (settimana #171).

È la prima volta che partecipo a questo contest e ho scelto questo personaggio che mi ha ispirato. Fa parte della "Water Unit". È un pirata di quelli belli tosti, armato con due pistole e che ha sete di rivalsa sulle navi governative colme di tesori accumulate sul commercio degli schiavi. Mi sono divertito a dare una interpretazione personale di un personaggio pronto a solcare i mari in tempesta e che non si tira in dietro facilmente!
Ho approfittato di questa illustrazione per fare pratica con il digitale. In questo senso sono piuttosto indietro. Onestamente preferisco quando posso lavorare sul tradizionale, visto che passiamo parecchio tempo davanti a uno schermo in generale. Ma devo dire che usando un tablet sensibile alla pressione (Samsun S3) e un'app davvero buona (Sketchbook) mi sono trovato bene anche se sono alle prime armi (precedentemente ho lavorato con tavoletta grafica e PhotoShop). Vi lascio al risultato finale e al processo di creazione.
