The blue-eyed man.

Nobody ever knew why he was so different. After all, everyone there lived in a world surrounded by magic and monsters of the most varied species, but 'the man with blue eyes' was different; different for appearing to be an ordinary man.

knowing he was stranger to most there, he avoided spending too much time on any of the islands. He was uncomfortable with almost any species; most seemed to feel superior for having some extraordinary power or ability, and talking to these creatures was always an exercise in patience. Is not, that 'the blue-eyed man' (as he was known) was not serene enough to deal with overbearing monsters; he just believed that he would make better of his time sailing in his boat, watching the endless cycles of sunrise and sunset, the different phases of the moon and the sea.

In the sea, there were also a lot of monsters, of course. But he had sailed for so long between those islands that he knew exactly where the calmest place was from which it would be possible to dive, fish, and simply enjoy all the nature around him without having to deal with any creature.

What most of the inhabitants of the islands did not know, is that even though he was a lonely man and he liked to be so, what moves him was the care he had for all the inhabitants of Splinterlands, and for those who would still arrive. For, as much as that sad boatman went unnoticed by most species, it was because of him that everyone's survival was assured. The blue-eyed man was the one who protected the sea portals, preventing any human being from finding the magical islands, although he himself suspected that it was just any human being, there was an unbreakable truth about him that he would never discover. And that truth was exactly what woke him up every day on his boat so that he simply sailed for over a thousand years among beings that only sought a chance to destroy him.

He didn't know why he was there, how he got there, or if he had a life before Splinterlands. Simply, one day he woke up and a solar eclipse was happening, when he looked around, he was on a boat, in the middle of the sea, he was shirtless, but he wasn't cold. Beside him was a rope, he held it as if he somehow recognized it, and walked to the bow. Standing there, he closed his eyes and took a deep breath... And when he opened his beautiful blue eyes, he heard a voice saying a single word:

Hagios.

Hagios.
