The Cerberus Myth.

Undoubtedly one of the most famous fantastic creatures in Greek mythology is Cerberus. Its name in ancient Greek means ''Devil of the pit'', already in Latin, ''Meat Eater''. Whichever definition you prefer, just by the name we can tell that it is a terrifying beast.

Bred to guard the gates of the underworld, Cerberus is an enormous three-headed dog with a serpent's tail. But while this is the most often told definition, there are some exciting strands to its appearance; such as one that suggests that this monster actually had dozens of heads, and another that claims it would have a dog's head and another one hundred snakes, encircling the dog's head as if it were a lion's mane.

The most interesting thing about Cerberus is that he is the gatekeeper of the world of Hades, and prevents any damned soul or anyone from leaving that place. Legend has it that getting in is not exactly a problem, and what monster can actually be quite kind to whoever arrives, the real problem is getting out. Only four Greek heroes achieved this feat, they were: Orpheus, Aeneas, Psyche, and Hercules. Anyone else trying to get out of Tartarus was torn apart by this creature.

It is common that in films, Cerberus is always shown as a being that protects something, as in Harry Potter, for example, in which the dog protected the place where the philosopher's stone was kept. Already in Splinterlands, Cerberus is portrayed as a species of dogs, which have three heads, and each of them can have a different personality and diverge from each other. It is a rare card, of the fire element, it has a medium speed and 5 health. In addition, he has the ability Heal, and is one of the most iconic cards in the fire deck.
